SOURCE: screen goes blank after 2 mins of use

Unfortuneately this problem is located on the main board inside the player, cause is in the video processor circuitry, which would require special equipment to track down the part. There is no choice but to bring it to a serviceman, cost should be a consideration.

SOURCE: I tried the little buddy heater in my golf cart and as soon as I move the cart the heater goes out what can I do to stop this

This is not going to work in your golf cart. This is propane based heater with a pilot light. It will go out if you drive because of the wind blowing on it. I also believe all Mr. Heaters have a tip hazard turn off. I know the two I have do. If you really want heat in your cart I would recommend an extra battery, an inverter and a porcelain electric heater. Could be made to work very nicely in your cart.

SOURCE: My Golf Buddy GPS PT4 got wet. Removed battery; have in bag of rice. Still water under screen. Should I order replacement battery? How long should GPS stay in rice? Is there another solution? Help.

That is your bet. The rice trick. Id keep it in there for 36 hours. It will either work or not work after that period. If there is still water in there then might have to order a new unit. As for the battery I would have put that in rice too. Ya never can be too safe when it comes to water damage. If the battery did get damaged during the water incident then a new battery would likely need to be ordered.

But you are doing the right thing with the rice. Goodluck.

While using my gps 12, the screen suddenly went dark with just a narrow border of lit screen. batteries good. I can faintly see the pages behind the dark screen.

it turns out I inadvertently adjusted the screen contrast. This is adjusted by holding the left arrow key down after powering up, until the contrast is corrected. If the screen was completely white, holding the right arrow key down after powering up would bring contrast back into balance.

Geko 101 wouldn't turn off. Removed/inserted batts, wont turn on

Press the power on button while holding OK until the unit switches on- that puts the 101 into Service mode. Then press the up key until the screen contrast is about right. (or press the down key... to make it darker). You'll be able to see if all the tests pass. Then when you're happy with the setting, turn off.

My hp 1730 monitor remains black. I can faintly see the display, close-up, but it is close to black. I just tried it on my other computer and it still does not work

The screen finely went out and it cant display any more. is it old? do you leave it on alot?

The screen probably burnt out. Or you just have the contrast or brightness turned all the way down.

Faint screen image

when you first power on using lower right (power) button, wait 6 seconds for the intro screen to finish. The upper left (up) button increases screen contrast. Hold this one down for a few seconds and the screen should darken. The middle left (down) button decreases contrast.

If this doesn't work, try turning off by holding the power button.
Hold down upper left AND upper right while turning unit on. This initiates diagnostic mode and contrast is darker by default. Bottom of screen is a button test area which darkens a symbol for each successful button press. Use it to diagnose a button problem. Turn off power and on again to leave diagnostic mode.

I wish you success playing with the Etrex.
