mine shows 'E' on display. was sent away to be tested by Makita they said nothing wrong, faulty battery. bought new battery, still doesn't work. Makita not pulling their weight

usually the blinking E means the backup batteries are dead.

the backup batteries are AA and should go in the lower compartment on the rear of the radio.

just make sure you install the backup (AA) batteries in first, then insert your main battery to run the unit. doing it backwards wont always clear the "E" notification
