If you had the name and model number of your machine, that would be more helpful. Does the washer drain at all? There is a drain valve and a pump that does this for you. Perhaps the drain valve is not operating. This is a common problem.

SOURCE: water not draing away and machine is not spinning

Empty your machine manually by lowering the drain hose into a bowl or bucket. Then remove the kick plate and check the filter for blockages. Before replacing try the machine on drain to see if the pump is running, if problem persists there may be a blockage in the pipe from the drum to the pump.

SOURCE: washing machine will not drain. water wont drain

If your washer won't drain, check these:

It spins, but doesn't pump
It doesn't spin or pump
It pumps, but the water returns
It spins, but doesn't pump If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out.

To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port.

Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job.

If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump.

It doesn't spin or pump If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it.

It pumps, but the water returns If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck in the drain?) Also, check for these problems:

  • If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess.

  • If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

SOURCE: Washing machine will not drain all the water. If

there is always a little water left in the drum assembly when done pumping. however it is usually well below the level of the clothes basket/drum so that there is none contacting the clothes when at rest.
if you can actually visibly see water within the clothes basket/drum when the cycle is complete, then check below.
have you lengthened the drain hose beyond the standard length to reach to your taller than normal sewer/drain inlet??? if so then you're getting more water returning to the unit when the pump shuts off and if the extra hose is long enough then theres enough water returning to your tub so that the basket sits in water at rest..
if so you'll need to install a check valve to keep the additional water from going backwards into your unit. some of these units have one built into the drain hose where it connects to the pump.. i tried looking yours up via the model # listed on the 1st page but got nowhere with that number.

you could also have a restriction in your pump or drain assembly that may be slowing things down some.. can't be of more help without proper model # though..
hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn

SOURCE: washing machine not spinning or draining water

its your drain pump if you can hear it humming but no water is draining it is blocked or jammed by a foriegn object (most probably a 20 cent coin or bobby pin/s), if you can hear it working as normal but still no water it may have a blockage sumwhere along the drain pipe either that or the impellor has snapped off the shaft and is ratteling around and not actually turning, and with the spin that is directly related to yor drain pump issue as the washer will not even attempt to spin if water remains in the tub, incredibly easy to do hit me back if you want detailed instructions

Too much water draining out at one time causing water to overflow

Its much more likely something is clogged either in the drain or the drain hose or their is something lose like a clamp on the water outlet system or the water valve is stuck open .
Do you shut the water off at the valve on the wall after you are done washing .This is why that valve is their always shut THIS OFF after you are done washing
This could be the problem its a diaphragm valve if it popped the machine will just keep filling until you shut the wall valve off .
The valve is on the back of the machine ware the 2 hose's hook to it . Its 50 to 60 dollars .Look at the owners manual it will show you how to pop the clips and open the top up to get at it the rest is EZ

My washing machine leaks alot of water from the drain trap while it is working or when it has just done a wash.

Thanks for the model number. The leakage is very likely from the drain hoses that are connected to the drain pump. For your model the drain pump is located at the bottom front behind the bottom plate. You will have to remove the screws holding the bottom front plate. Once you get this out you can access the drain pump and hoses. Either one of the two hoses (inlet from drum or outlet to laundry drain hose) could have burst or lost hose clamp. Need to fix this. Also check the laundry tub drains are clear and there is no back water into washing machine.

Washing machine Airturbo stops at 17 minutes and 7 minutes and error code SE appears. what is to be done washing nachine is one year old only

  1. Open the filter-cover near the bottom of the machine. Unscrew emergency drain cap by turning it to the left and drain off all the water. Unscrew the filter cap and take it out. Wash any dirt or other material from the filter. Make sure the drain pump propeller behind the filter is not blocked. Replace the filter cap. Replace the filter-cover.
  2. The Water Drain error can be cleared by turning POWER SW OFF and back ON.
  3. If the water only trickles out of the draining hose, pause the washer and blow air down the hose, you should hear the water inside the unit bubble a few times. If you don't hear bubbles, the hose is still blocked.
  4. Drain the load, empty the washer of clothes and try running a rinse & spin cycle. You should repeat this until the water runs clear from the drain hose.
  5. If the machine still fails to drain, you may need to replace your Drain pump.

Bosch wff 1401 not emptying water therfor not able to spin the pump goes round but water does not empty if i drain the water the machine will spin

If you have not already done so, then check and clean filter located at bottom front right of washer behind drop down cover.
If it still does not empty, then it is either blocked between the pump and tge waste outlet, or the pump itself could be faulty.

GE Washing Machine (model # GUSR2LOOT) drain problem

Check for a blockage in the water pump. If it does not drain first it does not spin. Check for power to the drain pump motor. If no pump blockage check the lid switch for continuity. No continuity, replace the lid switch.

LG TROMM washing machine can't open door

You need to unplug the machine, and drain the water from the drain hose, accessing the drain pump.

Once you access the drain pump also remove all obstructions in drain lines, this often fix teh problem.

If you do not have done anything similar before, then it is better to call the technician.
