I have one of these. In the fire box(lower left) I put my coals and hickory wood. I sometimes use cowbot charcoal (wonderful but burns quick) I put the meat in the main chamber closer towards the smoke pipe. The method is called indirect. I keep the temp around 200 and let it go all day. Note: After 2 hours I wrap my ham or turkey with foil to keep the meat from getting black. Helps cook the meat through and through. The only problem I had with mine was the tacky assed cheap metal legs that rusted out and left me with a legless solid cast iron smoker. I fixed tha by placing 4 landscape timers into the ground and bias cutting them to cradle that smoker. I placed 2x2s on each side to keep the timbers from spreading. Been like that for 5 years. Looks damn nice and i aint gotta worry about nobody rolling it out the yard. For big partys you can lay in some charcoal to the main chamber and hot dog hamburger sausage yerself crazy. Hooks up some nice chicken.
You could put fire in the firebox and grill on the provided grill and place the food in the big chamber to keep it warm. It is a marvelous machine, very versatile.

Need class a chimney flashing for penetration through standing seam metal (steel) roof. What flashing is best to avoid corrosion problems due to disimiar metals in contact? Also, how is the flashing...

Hello Stephen.
I do understand what you are talking about with your flashing. Your supplier of the standing seam metal should have similar metal flashing to use on any of your roof flashing points. There is a process to install flashing on a chimney or any other protrusions, If you are still interested post some pictures of what you have and I will explain the best I can. It takes years of experience to do some flashings especially on standing seam metal.

I boughta vermont castings model # 2610 cast iron radiance franklin stove it came w/pipes .............is it a direct vent or a b vent..reason why i am asking is he gave me a "t" pipe w/ screen...

It the opening on the stove is on top of the stove, it's a 'B' vent. If the opening is in the back of the stove it's a "Direct Vent". However, some models have a connection on the back that's facing up,. A 90 degree elbow can be used to convert it to a horizontal run to enter an existing chimney, but then it must elbow up to connect to the pipe that is required to line the chimney. You should not just stop the pipe above the damper. It needs to run all the way to the top of the chimney, then have flashing seal the chimney's clay liner and a termination cap on the top.

here is a link to the Owners Manual/Installation Instructions for a Model 2600. It installs the same way as the 2610. http://homeappliance.manualsonline.com/mdownloads/62b85343-a800-4898-85a1-3d6d3c524259.pdf

Hope this helps you sort things out and do a proper installation.

The dryer doesnt have any heat.. how do I replace the heating element?

1) Unplug the dryer and pull it far enough away from the wall to remove the vent hose.
2) Remove the screws securing the rear access panel, leaving the top center screw for last. Set the panel aside.
3) Remove the two wires connected to the limit thermostat on the side of the chimney. You need to write down & remember that the wires go to the thermostat and the spade connectors on the ends of the wires will only fit the thermostat. Remove the two wires at the bottom of the chimney connected to the terminals mounted in ceramic insulators. These terminals are part of the heater element.
4) Now go up to the top of the dryer and remove the two screws under the lint filter (pull the filter out first).
ldrwp-top-screws.jpg
5) We need to open the top of the dryer now. Slide a putty knife in between the dryer top and the cabinet to release the clips holding the top down. Push in and pry up about 2.5" in from each corner (see the diagram below).
ldrwh-top-up.jpg
6) Grab a stub flat blade screwdriver or a short screwdriver (you aren't going to have much room), raise the top (use your head to prop it up) and remove the sheet metal screw securing the mounting ******** top of the heater chimney (it's way to the back and to your left). Before you remove the strap note how it is looped through the slot on top of the chimney.
6A) Some newer elements are now 1/2 of the size of the older style versions, picture help and more picture help and even more picture help.
ldrwp-heater-top-clip.jpg
7) Go back to the rear of the machine and pull the top of the chimney back and out of the drum bulkhead. Note how the chimney sits on two mounting brackets for later reinstallation. Lift the chimney up and off of its mounting brackets.
8) Lay the chimney down with the vent on the top facing you. Remove the sheet metal screw near the bottom. This releases the heater element. Slide the old element out. Confirm that it has failed by locating the break in the coil.
ldrwp-broken-element.jpg
9) Position the chimney above the mounting brackets and carefully lower it into the slots. Push the top of the chimney back into the hole in the drum bulkhead. If the chimney doesn't fit snugly into the hole, check the alignment of the slots at the base of the chimney with those in the mounting brackets.
10) Raise the top again and replace the mounting strap and the screw at the top of the chimney. Lower the top and lock the clips by pushing the top down. Replace the two screws that were under the lint filter. Slide the lint filter back in.
11) Reconnect the two wires to the limit thermostat and the two wires to the heater element terminals. If the heater element terminals are different from those on the ends of the wires that you disconnected, use the connectors supplied with the new element and splice them onto your wires.
12) Replace the rear access panel and its mounting screws. Reconnect the dryer vent hose and plug in the power cord. Check for proper operation.

A friend gave me a Weber Q200 without an instruction booklet. Is it possible to buy one or get the information on line? Thanks...Linda

You can download the manual from Support section Weber's website (<a href="http://weber.com/support/manuals/?id=2">click here</a>).&nbsp; There are different manuals for 2008 models and pre-2008 models, but there are not really many changes between years, so either manual for the Q should be fine

I need directions for using a weber grill

Open the bottom vent, open the top vent. Start your charcoal in a chimney starter (my favorite way). Dump in the burning charcoal. Wipe down grill grate with canola or other high temp oil. Place grate on grill, cover, set top and bottom vents to desired temp. Cook food. Cleanup.
