Question about Saeco VIA Venezia

3 Answers

My wife left the coffee machine on for four days and its now dead. I opened it up to see if anything burnt out, but it looks ok. I'm sure we're not the first to do this. Is there a solution ? a part we can replace ?

I didn't understand the answer, I checked inside but couldn't see what to do, but the answer did encourage me to go to a Saeco repair specialist and they agreed it as the thermo. They fixed it for $80 whish is a heck of a lot cheaper than a new machine.

Check the thermostats on top of the boiler.

Using an ohmsmeter, disconnect one (or both) of the leads on the thermostat ( small cylinder sitting on the top or side of boiler with 2 electrical connections on it) and check for resistance. Check items 12, 16, and 17.

If you use the volt meter it will be the only way to check the thermostats, put the red probe on one side and the black probe on the other (MAKE SURE THE POWER CORD IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE SOURCE) and the electrical connectors on the thermostats at least one has to be disconnected. The meter if set to Ohms will give a reading of 000 or something similar as long as it is not reading "1" if it is then the thermostat is damaged.

Hi Es, I have the same problem, are you able to go into a little more detail? What should I actually be looking for on the thermostats? Is there also a fuse that could have blown?

Hi, I have the same machine with the same problem - well, it wasn't left on for 4 days, it just isn't turning on. Are you able to be a little more detailed? What should I look for? Is there a fuse in the unit that can blow?

Miele coffee maker will not turn on. Not responsive to power button or opening/closing door (which in pior use brought it out of sleep and powered up). Please help. Thanks

same thing happened to mine - it is exactly 5 years old (just out of warranty) - The problem was the power button. It gets crudded up and doesn't make a connection. When pressing the button moved less and less as crud built up but it still worked every day - and one day - nada, it just stopped powering on. (my wife just told me she got it to switch on a few days ago... - so I think we have isolated the problem), it is the crud under the power button. You can try and squirt contact cleaner on it. It was totally dead - nothing - and it is the crud buildup... Whew!

DCC-1150 Coffee Maker does not have power

Talked to Cuisinart tech support and they told me to unplug and leave it for 2 hours... that resets it to the factory defaults.
It looks like a thermal fuse might have blown inside your appliance.
If a thermal fuse has failed, there is probably another problem inside.
If the appliance is 4 months old, still cover under manufacturers warranty, Call the Cuisinart customer service to ask them where to find an authorized service center.
Hope this works for you.

Where is the ground coffee shoot?

Open the door and you will see four bins top right is the bean container - bottom right is the water container - bottom left is the waste container - top left is and empty storage bin - remove the top left bin and you will see a flap door - lift the door up and insert your ground coffee.

I have no power at all, its dead... and fuse is good!?Checked socket, cable tomachine is fine but machine does not work at all, no light, no anything!!

On some Classics there is a reset button on the left side of the boiler. Its the red button between the 2 wires on the thermostat. Your sure the fuse on top of the boiler is good?

Does not heat up or do anything when turned on

Inside is a heating element, most likely burnt out. Because that type of machine is self contained unit it is time to throw it out, mr coffee machines are dime a dozen these days. Can pick up another at wall mart for about 30 bucks. Not worth even attempting to fix or take apart a self contained factory machine . Sorry there is no good news, simple fix on that type of machine, unless you have warranty on it.

My machine won't do anything when it's turned on. It blows the fuse in the kitchen every time. I looked in the back and nothing appears to be grossly burnt or destroyed. Any suggestions? I'm a mess without...

It is possible that the boiler over heated and blew the element, disconnect one of the legs and turn machine on, if it trips breaker, then replace element.

Steam still coming through brew group even when pump not ON

I posted response and solution to similar issue see post below and comments :

You can release pressure placing a cup under steam wand open slowly and partially while machine is OFF and let hiss out slowly. Then open cup slowly if you have to force it open DON'T. That PUCK sound can make you afraid of your machine can't it. I wont admit I haven't done that four or five times.

We have a Saeco Classico that worked very well when we first got the machine. Now the coffee is bitter and there is no crema in the shot at all. We tried changing grinds and tamping, nothing seems to work. Can you help? Thanks so much. We miss our morning coffee :-)

Saeco Incanto not grinding

Hi Chris,

The leaking is your steam valve that has to be replaced, you can see this if you open the door and look up in the right corner there you will see water drip.

If not then you have a pipe or boiler leak.

How old is your machine?
How often do you descale the machine?

When you try to make a cup of coffee, starts the grinder for two seconds or is it dead?

Hope this will help you.
