If this is a standard dryer for a home and not over 40 years old, there is no pilot. Does the gas not ignite? There is a thermal fuse and also an igniter that could be your issue. You can OHM out either one of these...

SOURCE: Where is the pilot light on the Whirlpool Ultimate Care II Dryer?

Hello gigiknoll
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

This model should be electronic ignition and does not use a pilot light.
The igniter may be faulty.or the gas module may be faulty.
Pilots are a thing of the past!
This requires a tech to test it with equipment.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Imperial Electric Dryer wont heat up

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

SOURCE: whirlpool imperial series dryer heats not spinning

This problem is almost always a broken belt. Yes you can do it yourself.
Go to repairclinic. com and put in your model number for the exploded view of your dryer. Locate the belt part number and belt orientation.

Does a ge gas dryer with the model number DBSR453GBOWW have a pilot light?

Your GE dryer does not have a pilot light, a common issue on gas dryers is the ignitor. More info needed (what does the dryer do or not do when you push the start button?) to give a better answer.
