There should be a little valve that looks like a tire valve on the refrigerant line. This is the nozzle to fill with R12

Replace the alternator. If it is not putting out a charge it will continue to drain the battery while running after fully charging the battery.

1986 fORD BRONCO, WASN'T CHARGING CHANGED THE


1. get the battery tested to rule out a collapsed cell.

2. If the battery is ok, check the wiring harness that runs from the passengers front corner, to the drivers front corner, for a break in the wires. A common spot to find one would be near the passengers side.

Where to charge your a/c


You should see lines comming out of the compressor. follow them around untill you see a black or blue plastic cap that will be the system service port's you need to find out what is in the system from the factory before putting any in.I belive the 1989 fords had R12 and you need to get the system evacuated before getting a R134 retrofit kit to put R134 in it. unless you are certified to work on R12 systems. than you can buy R12 reclaimed ref. but the avrage person can not.
