Question about Emerson EWR20V4 DVD Recorder/VCR
I too have the same problem with my unit. I only use DVD-RW. Bought two packs of ten thinking that I just had a bad batch but with the same result on both. Same error reading. This unit is five years old. Could there be another problem or a solution? Please help!!! Thanks!
I have found that most home DVD recorders work best with +R or +RW

It may be the speed of the dvd's that you are buying. your disc will say 16x or something that may be the problem. your recorder may take a slower speed.
