SOURCE: Fan noise in freezer of my GE side-by-side refridgerator

You don't have to worry about the ice and frost, Your heater does that for you Your heater comes on and defrost every day. You just need to tighten the screws and clean up the vent where the noise is coming from but I wouldn't worry about it. The temperature on your fridge and freezer is running optimal, You know the saying, if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it....just tap the vent covers every few days.

SOURCE: loud squealing noise

The noise is most likely the serpentine belt. Check it's condition and that of the belt tensioner. It sounds like the belt is slipping, causing the squealing noise u describe. As the belt warms up, it's getting a better 'grip' and the noise stops. Turning on the heat also turns on the a/c in newer cars, this added drag on the belt (one more component to turn, the a/c compressor) would explain why it happens when u turn on the heat. Is the belt original? If yes, it's time to change it, and check the belt tensioner to make sure it's doing it's job of keeping the belt snug on all the pulleys. Let me know how u make out.

SOURCE: when engine fan engages makes loud squealing noise

OK, the motor that you are referring to has lots of cooper windings and internal parts that can become misaligned during long term operations and extreme heat situations. this noise you are hearing is basically a warning sign that is trying to tell you that this motor is failing and will go out soon.

SOURCE: squealing noise coming from the belts while engine is running

take off your serp-belt and spin your water pump, alternator, idler pully and see what squeaks or feels rough. your water pump bearings may be bad. the only thing you can do is change it. dont forget to change your thermostat and antifreeze. FYI your antifreeze is made with lubricants in it for your water pump bearings.

Every 20 minutes, my freezer would make a crackling like noise. What does this mean and how can I fix this?

Refrigerators are not the most complicated appliance in the house, but it still takes a lot of parts working together perfectly to keep your food cold. If one of those parts breaks down, or begins to, you may start to hear new noises from your refrigerator. Fridges make some noise during regular operation, but if it suddenly gets louder or makes a different noise, it is a good sign that something is wrong.

Freezer Fan
Freezers can be located on either side of the refrigerator, or may be at the top or the bottom of the unit. If you hear a noise coming from the area in which the freezer is located, you should open the freezer and see if the noise gets louder. Any squealing sounds coming from this area indicate a broken freezer fan. These units are not designed to be repaired, and eventually one making a loud noise will break and need replacement.

Condenser Fan
All motors typically require a fan in order to maintain a safe operating temperature. Like the fan in the freezer, the fan that runs on the condenser can also break down and create a similar squealing noise. The location of the fan noise is what differentiates the freezer and condenser fan problems. If you hear a fan noise coming from the lower part of the fridge at the rear, it is likely the condenser fan causing the problem.

Action to do
Open the freezer to see if the noise gets louder. If the noise becomes louder with the freezer open, the noise is likely caused by the evaporator fan. If the evaporator fan is the culprit, replace it to get rid of the noise.

Pull the refrigerator away from the wall, and check the condenser fan at the back of the fridge. A metal panel may cover the fan, which can be unscrewed. Listen to see if the fan is the source of the noise. If it is, the fan may need to be cleaned or replaced.

Fan motor in landcruiser 100 series is making a squealing/lound humming noise when the aircon is turned on, Im assuming it is the fan motor, noise coming from under the glovebox compartment of the vehcile.

Check your fanbelt in the engine bay, It is uncommon for an 8 year old Toyota to have a heater fan problem, however they are reasonably easy to access from underneath in the passengers footwell . It may have a leaf or something sucked into the unit .

Fridge making loud screeching sounds

Generally, in my experience, the loud screeching is caused by one of the fan motors or fan blades. There is a fan inside the cabinet (possiblle two, one on the freezer and one on the refrigerator side). Also, there is a fan underneath the unit near the compressor (probably in the back).

If the screeching is coming from underneath then pull the unit out from the wall and remove the cardboard cover at the bottom back. Now turn the unit on and check for where the screeching is coming from.

If it is the fan blade (hitting something) or the motor, you can remove these and replace them easily. UNPLUG THE REFRIGERATOR BEFORE TOUCHING ANYTHING UNDERNEATH THE BACK OF THE REFRIGERATOR.)

Good Luck!

4805 infocus projector

it is the colorwheel bearings going slowly due to excessive dust and heat. remove the lamp and push in the switch actuator on the lamp door frame. turn the projector on and see the colorwheel spin in the lamp housing window. does the noise happen when the wheel spins and stops when the wheel stops? let the switch actuator go. does the noise stop? it's the colorwheel (pn: 525-0146-00). you can get it through an infocus service center. try av solutions in ny. www.avsolutionsny.com
