While taking off the Xclamps,

, i scratched near the heatsink screw holes , and it goes across a couple lines that seemingly lead to one of the RAM chips, when i put it back together, i get a secondary error of 0110

Once you scratch the motherboard you cant do anything about it, there is no hardware out there that will replace it, and Microsoft sure wont fix it for you since you have opened it up and broken the warranty. It sounds like you tried to fix the 3 red lights error, you know of you sent it of to Microsoft without touching it they would have fixed it for free.

Where can I get instructions to put unidentified tower together?

You have all the pieces .. motherboard .. cpu .. ram .... heatsink/cpu fan?

Place the cpu into the motherboard socket. Note that it only fits one way. Check the pins on the cpu against the holes in the socket. Hold it in place with the securing catch/lever that you will see on the side.

Smear some heatsink/cpu paste onto the top of the cpu. The heatsink paste is basically a 'heat resistant glue'

Put the cpu cooling fan onto the cpu and screw it into position. Or, it may have a securing lever to hold it in place.

Put the RAM into the ram slots. They only fit one way. Make sure they are firmly in place.

Put the motherboard into the casing. Align what holes you can and use the screws that come with the casing to secure the motherboard.

Connect the casing power supply to the motherboard. Note that it only fits one way.

Connect the cpu cooling fan to the motherboard connector. It only fits one way ..

Next, look at the leads that are just lying loose .. the small female 2 pin connectors will be marked 'PWR' ..'LED'..'RESTART' ... There maybe 8 of them.

On the motherboard identify the block of male 2 pin connectors. The female connectors must connect to them. You'll need good eyes and probably a flashlight, as the writing on the motherboard is small..

If you are connecting a sata hard drive, connect to the motherboard connection that says 0. Connect your dvd drive to '1' Again, notice that sata leads can only fit one way.

Then connect any video or sound cards to the motherboard (if any).
Just look on the motherboard for anywhere the connecting wires will attach. You won't go far wrong.

The casing won't come with instructions of 'what to do' as such. If there were instructions there it would relate to pin/hard drive connections.

What you CAN do is a google search. If, for example, your motherboard is an ASUS 123456 .. search for 'ASUS 123456 motherboard connections'. Or log onto the motherboard manufacturer's website ..

I am trying to access the fan on my son's acer aspire 5050, to replace the fan and heat sinc, can you help me with this?

Remove the base cover.
Disconnect the heatsink fan connector from the main board.
Remove the screw securing the heatsink fan module in place (most probably there will be only one screw).
Now carefully lift up the heatsink fan module.

if you are still in the year warranty microsoft will repair free,if not its £81 for them to fix.Its an easy fix if you want to do yourself, the thermal paste in between the heatsinks and chip needs replacing, look on youtube and you will find loads of vids on how to open console, you will also need an xclamp kit,you can buy for £2 on ebay(make sure you buy one with nylon washers and themal paste),then take heatsinks off and clean chips and bottom of heatsinks and replace with new paste, then either use original xclamps(i never do,i use xclamp kit,it makes job a lot easier)or use bolts and washers that you get with kit,and within an hour you'll have a working xbox, you can also veiw vids on youtube how to change xclamps and clean off old paste. It might look a bit tricky but its as easy as changing a fuse in a plug, just on a bigger scale

Bottom screen is faded and lines on it

Take the battery cover off by undoing the small screw, when the cover is off there will be five small holes neer the bottem, on the far right near the small philips screw there should be a small hole with little screw deep in the hole. With a thin ended screw driver turn it one way or another it should adjust the screens brightness.

If the dosent work then a new bottom screen will be needed.

My system turns on but no video only audio whats going on i even bought new av cables still same

Hi its about to go into RROD quick fix to tell if it is sometimes this works

Turn it around see the fan holes, with it turned off stick two small screwdrivers thru the holes to stop them spinning, turn it on watch the lights on the front, soon it will blink 2 red lights let it go for about 10 minutes then turn it off at the wall, take out screwdrivers, wait for about an hour to cool by itself, dont help it Turn it on at the wall and 90% of the time it will come alive again if not do it a second time If this helps give us a tick so to help others This is temporary untill you get it fixed by a professional to fix them properly and if its under warrantee MS is the best way to go otherwise you have to heat it with infared heat or a rework station clamping is basterdation in my opinion I use the rework station and about 95% are still going Good Luck

P4S-LA MOTHERBOARD INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.

1. GROUND YOURSELF. Buy an antistatic wristband and put it on, or on the power outlet, tough the screw in the middle of it. 2. Those little goldish screws that have a screw hole for a screw, and the shape of the upper part in hexgonal, screw those into the case so they line up with the screwholes on the mobo. 3. Repeat step one before putting in the motherboard, if you have the antistatic wristband, go past this step. 4. Make sure your grounded, the put it in slowly and careful so it lines up with the screws. 5. Put in the plate that holds the ports. 6. Screw in the screws, NOT TOO TIGHT OR YOU CAN CRACK YOUR MOTHERBOARD. 7. Put the power supply into the case and screw it in. 8. Where the COU should go, there is a little lever, pull it until you fell it wont move anymore. 9. Put in the CPU. DO NOT FORCE IT IN!!!. Line up the pins (when i say line up, I DON'T mean bend or snap the off, i mean line them up with the holes so the two areas without pins line up to the area on the motherboard) and let it slide in. 10. Move the lever back to it's original position. 11. Put the thermal grease on the CPU, then line up the heatsink's four small screw holes to the four small holes on the motherboard WITHOUT having the heatsink touch the CPU. 12. Put the heatsink on, make sure the screwholes line up, then screw it into place. 13. Put in all the PCI cards that you have into the slots then screw them into place, if you don't have any, skip this step. 14. Put the Cd drive(s), hard drive(s), floppy(s), ZIP drive(s), and cardreader drive(s) in. 15. Screw them into place. 16. Connect the wires from the case to their respective pins on the bottom right. (Third pair is the most important, connect it to the power switch.) 17. Put the RAM in, DON'T exert too much pressure, as they can snap. 18. Plug in all the wires from the power supply to their respective components. 19. Triple check to make sure you did everything right. 20. Close the case up, then connect all the wires from your monitor, keyboard, mouse, and whatever you may have to the right connectors for it.

Thin horizontal line across the entire TV screen

Hi, your correct it is collapsed vertically, you should have re-soldered it before it failed because now you may have to replace the IC but I would re-solder it first as this possibly will fix it, look for a small aluminum (silver colored) heatsink with a black 7-10 pin IC screwed onto the heatsink, flip the main board over and this IC will probably have 2-3 (or more) pins broken, re-solder with 60-40 tin/lead solder, you didn`t give make & model number so thats all the info I can give you, good luck, BMW Rider

Shure beta 58a mic dismantle

Musman4:

i have 58S, which should look very much alike.

if you can see a screw in a small recess near the tail (not the 2 screws over the switch), remove it.

it you do not find this screw, probably because you lost it, so the 3-pin socket came out. Also, there is a C shape insert, wriggle and raise it, it should pop out.

good luck!
