Check the holes in the spray arms. Sounds like you may have a clogged hole or two and arms are not spinning around dishes

What dial should we put the dishwasher on as its not washing the dishes clean

try cleaning the dishwasher, sometimes the scale from the water clogs the jets so it will not clean as well. I put a cup of vinegar in and run through a high heat wash to clean mine. they do make dishwasher cleaning stuff as well. high heat or pots and pans setting.

Wy is top rack not washing

top rack is for small plates & cups not pots & pans as they may obstruct the rotating of the sprayer & foul the water from getting to all the items

Hard film being left on pots & silverware

First perform a vinegar cycle wash in the dishwasher. Pour a cup of vinegar into the bottom of the dishwasher. Keep the temperature at the highest setting possible and perform a wash cycle. Then start using a dishwasher most probably that would solve the problem. If this does not solve the problem then there must be some parts worn out or faulty creating the problem.

There are many probable causes of failure .

To clean the dishes the water temperature is essential. It the water is not hot then the dishes will not be cleaned properly. So check the water temperature.

Also check the filter in your dishwasher.Clean the filter if there is accumulation of debris in the filter

If you are in an hard water zone , then try reducing the amount of detergent used and then try cleaning the dishes

That sounds like the float switch is acting up. It is a mushroom looking device on the bottom that has a movable (up and down) plastic cup over the top. With the machine off, take the lower tray out and lift up on the cup--you should hear a faint 'click' when it nears the upper limit. It should also drop to the bottom when released. There may be food deposits that interfere with the proper movement of the cup. Are you using dish washer detergent only?

The cups and silverware come out with food on them

I recommend rinsing the food off before placing the items in the dishwasher. Also, run the hot water in the sink until it is hot before you turn on the dishwasher. good luck

Hello,
Welcome to fixya,

You said, you have a whirlpool quiet partner dishwasher that is not getting even light food residue off the dishes. Cycles seem to be running and progressing normally, tho you do not think the water is spraying from the arms with adequate force.

I have the same machine.
And I notice if I leave the dishes in the sink rather than rinsing them off and putting them directly into the dishwasher, (Like My Wife says to do). That sometimes I have the same problem.
So I bought Jet Dry, and filled the holder. It's a small sometimes clear plastic knob that unscrews out above the soap dish.Fill it once a month!
Do you put the detergent in both cups or only the closed one?
1. If the load is not real dirty you should only have to fill the one with the door that closes.
If it is real dirty then both. To always use both is a waste of money!
2. If your hot water heater is far from your dishwasher, let the hot water tap run a minute till it comes out hot, before starting the dishwasher.
3.If the dishes or pans are very dirty and or baked on use hi temp scower and heavy or potscruber for those loads.

I use heavy wash and hot temp scower if the stuff is relly messy or dryed on.
And for baked on HI- temp scower and pot scruber which sprays harder.

You will have to experiment a little to see what works for you.
You will find it washeing good after you find what works for your families dish habits!
