Volume problem with static sound

Picture quality is fine, volume however has to be turned up to about 30 in order to hear but you also hear some static.

Call a good TV Tech and have him replace the Audio Amplifier IC on the board. This should cure the problem.

Poor quality sound - low volume on Netflix. Everything fine on regular TV programmes.

You have to go to the sound mixer on your PC and increase the volume on Internet Explorer, Microsoft Silverlight also.
To find the mixer try clicking on the speaker on the taskbar.

Doesn't sound like a fuse. They don't fix themselves when you reach 75%.

Try shaking the volume knob while in the 30-50% range and/or try (with the power off) rotating the volume knob numerous times from 0% to 100%. If when you plug it back in it responds ANY differently, you might have a bad volume potentiometer. If when you shake the knob you hear static or intermittent sound, you have a bad volume pot.

The only other thing I can think of is that the wiper of the volume pot is not in contact with the windings inside the pot until you reach the 75% mark. When the volume comes on at 75%, does it start off kind of "static" then come in loud and clear? Also try this.... adjust the volume pot to 74% (or when the sound just begins to come on). At this point shake the knob. If you hear static, replace the volume pot.

Unplugging it when still on shouldn't cause any damage... in fact it probably hasn't considering it works at 75% plus.

Turned up full volume u can only just hear sound if ear right to it was working fine then the volume just ******** out

It could be the mic plug. uniden is known for the issue where the wires inside the mix plug break at the solder joints.

When the RX wire breaks, you will loose receive because the radio will not go into receive mode. But you can usually hear it ever so slightly if you crank the volume.

Other issue that may cause this. No radio activity, (unless you hear radio activity low and not static)

poor feed line or antenna.

I would try a different mic that is known to work.

I have a 42 inch Hitachi plasma tv that is making a very loud static noice coming from the internal speakers. It stays at a contstant very loud volume unless I completly mute the tv or turn the volum

Based on what you have tried if a buzz or loud static via the speakers you have something wrong in the audio output circuit of the set--problem here is that circuit may be part of the Main board that processes all signal---a look inside---following the speaker leads back would lead you to that board.

A simple thing to do to narrow it a little (you may have done this) is with sound all the way off put your ear to the internal speaker--hear anything at all like a deep hum?

Depending on age of set and cost of the board likely bad it may or may not be a do it yourself repair.

Hello, I have an RT 2870 RCA surround sound system. When I turn it on all I hear is static and its not until I crank the volume up to around 25-30 before I can hear the audio. How would I fix this problem?

NEVER USE MAXIMUM VOLUME FOR TROUBLESHOOTING.

Turn the volume control to something medium.

The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.

Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Mute or Tape Monitor control or Multichannel Analog Input selected.

There is a good chance that a common control (volume pot??) may have developed a high-resistance or 'dead' spot through defect or idleness and is causing your symptom. Turn the POWER OFF and operate every control throughout its range a number of times, especially rarely-used ones like Tape Monitors and the Mute control.

Turn the volume to something reasonable and see if that helped.

Make sure if you have a set top box (cable box) that the volume is turned up in that.
