Question about Microsoft Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings for Windows
When I install Age of Empires 2, the process goes to 100% normally, but then the "Updating System Settings" popup remains indefinitely. It won't finish doing that, so the installation just sits there. Before I reformatted my computer, the game installed just fine.
I almost shot my self trying to install this. I had the exact same problem. What worked for me is go to the cd and explore. Right click on setup icon and got to the compatibility tab. set to windows xp, click on "run in 256", also "run in 640x480" click on run as administrator. Apply. Then try to run the install. This worked for me perfect.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
