I had been having this problem for quite some time on my A1100 IS. It was incredibly frustrating! No matter how many times I changed the batteries I kept running into the same problem over and over.
Somewhere I had read something about going into the "yellow menu" and resetting and while I didn't find that, while I was in the menu I noticed there was a setting for "auto shutdown" which I moved to off. I wasn't sure if that fixed the problem and I kept looking.
I kept thinking there must be a secondary battery but I couldn't find any information on where it was on the camera or how to replace it but when I was looking for that info I ran across one thing that said something about there being a battery in the battery compartment.
It turns out, I checked the battery compartment door and one of the two contacts (the one over the positive battery terminal is on a small plastic catch. I notched it out with a fingernail but when I did I couldn't see anything behind it. I could close the door to the compartment either but I put the contact back into position and then the camera worked again!
This leads me to believe that over time, this contact on the door gets pressed down through regular use. By moving the contact back out and then reseating it, it moves it back into the correct position. It appears the contact wasn't making a solid connection to the battery which was what was leading to the problem.

Hi!
Try new batteries. If you already did it and it still says so, the power board has to be changed. You should contact your local Canon service center.

Hope this helps!

How do i fix my kodak easyshare ZD8612is when wont turn on even with batteries?

Where did you get these new batteries?
I hope you know you can't use alkaline or NiMH rechargeable batteries.
Only Lithium batteries can be used, because they do have a higher voltage.
If you are sure you have the correct batteries, check if the contacts are clean and shiny. Clean contacts always with a dry cloth or cotton swabs. Never use anything sharp in or close to a camera.
the picture down here is just to show you can't use alkaline batteries. There are also rechargeable lithium batteries for your Kodak.

If unused for any length of time, rechargeable batteries lose their ability to retain a charge. Try it with a brand new, fully-charged battery. FWIW, I recharge all my camera and flashgun batteries monthly.

Dose the vivitar vivicam 8025 have charge befoe u can trun it on it brand new and wont trun on can u help me please

most camera are sold with "flat batterys" in them (its a fire hazard thing) so you need to fully recharge the batterys before use or the camera will just turn its self off,,,look at the hand book for charge times? dont try using it on half charged batterys you only kill off the battery that way,,,

It is brand new I charged the battery all day and put it in the camera and it wont turn on

Try to use non-rechargeable LR6 batteries.
If it still does not work the camera needs a repair.

My ds lite wont turn on but it charges fine

if your ds is about 2 years old, it's probably time to change the battery. even though the battery is rechargeable, it wont hold a charge as it gets older. no matter how long you keep it on the charger, the battery is truly dead and it wont turn on. if anything, replace the battery. if your ds is brand spanking new, then you probably didn't leave it on the charger long enough to begin with.

hope this helped

WONT TURN ON

Digital cameras really are battery hogs (especially cameras that use only 2 AA's). Some brands of batteries will have problems just starting up the camera. This may be true even if they're alkaline, brand new, and just out of the package.

Recommend rechargeable NiMH batteries only for your camera. Believe Canon even states this in their user manual. Walmart sells these for around $7 for a package of four (about $15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they'll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they'll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You'll be very pleased with their performance, and may slap yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

If the above doesn't work, here's some other things to try:

Help with s630 Digital Camera

Rechargable batteries actually do not recharge the 100 times advertised. After maybe 10 times they are reduced in capacity noticably. For instance, new alkaline batteries will last me maybe 60 pictures, however the rechargables are only good for about 5. To test this try taking out the batteries, and put back in before you wish to try them, also turn off the flash if it is not needed.(flash uses a lot of power)

Battery Question?

hi usually they sugest to charge for between 12 and 16 hours.
It probably wont take that long thought but wont matter how long you charge for.
But remember to let the battery go totally flat on a monthly basis and recharge with full charge if you do this every month or so it will prolong the life of your battery as it does them no good just topping the charge up remember to do this and you should have no problems with the batt.
This also applys to mobile phones and anything that has rechargable battery
