No taillights but turn signal and break lights work.

These use a dual element bulb. It's 2 bulbs in one. The brighter element inside the bulb is used for the BRAKE light & turn signals. The second, dimmer element in the bulb is for tail lighting during night driving. Because they're on the whole time you drive at night they tend to wear & burn out sooner then the BRAKE light element. Assuming they're both the same age, they would burn out close to around the same time. Replace the bulbs. However, the tail lighting/running lights are also on separate wiring too. So check for damaged, rotted, or shorted wiring or bulb sockets, & also check the running lights fuse. If the fuse is blown, it's a good sign you have shorted/bare wiring, or damaged socket.

I have a 2004 PT cruiser and the AC compressor is going out and I'm 25 miles from home if the belt break will it hurt my car

In short, YES, it will hurt your car if it breaks and you continue to drive it.
Turn the A/C off. If it is causing the belt to slip or burn it will eventually break the belt. When this happens you will not be able to drive the vehicle. The belt runs everything not just the A/C. Power steering, alternator, water pump, etc... The A/C turned off the belt should free wheel on the pulley and not cause a problem unless the pulley isn't turning because of other damage.
Suggest you have it checked or repaired to avoid being broke down on the road.

What happens if the drive belt breaks

if a drive belt breaks, the debris can interfere with other engine components and do additional damage. rule of thumb belt life is 6yrs or 60000 miles. the belts operate critical engine systems ( alt, water pump, power steering pump) not something to short cut on. belts are noisey when cold due to additional load from battery use when starting or cold fuuids. have belts and tensioners checked for wear and correct operation

What would cause my ac belt to break on my 97 dodge caravan the pullies move without the belt being attached ,but we did have a big squealing noise when we used the ac..

The squealing is from the crankshaft p[ulley turn the belt on another pulley that is not turning as faster, Let it sqeal long enough and it will burn the belt in half. The pulley on the A/C maybe turning freely, but when you engage the A/C, the compressor itself is not, causing it to squeal. My guess is that the compressor is locking up or you have added to much freon. Having to much freon causes to much pressure buid up and will stop the compressor.

While driving all of a sudden my 1999 ford expedition started making this flapping noise coming from the engine. What could this be? Can I drive it to a repair shop?

It could be a number of things, but I'm going to go with what may be the most obvious (and least expensive) problem, which is the serpentine belt that drives the fan, alternator, water pump, power steering pump, etc. Open the hood and look at your belt(s) and look for any obvious breaks or tears, separation, or other damage or obstructions. If it is a belt giving out and separating, you may be able to cut off the part that is "flapping" against the inside of the engine compartment, and make it to a parts store. I hope this helps, and good luck. :)

I have 03 road king replaced new drive belt it blow in a short time gave it a 1/2" play. Took it to the harley shop where i bought it they said there's no warrinty. Drive sprockits look good. What could...

Tony, I'm sorry to say, that there is no warranty on any drive belt. I've worked with both final drive belts and primary drive belts and it's the same story, no warranty on them. Usually, the reason for premature failure of any drive belt is that during the installation, the belt was bent in too tight a radius. Harley belts used to come with a piece of paper in the box that told you not to bend the belt in a radius tighter than 4" or so. Bending it this tight damages the internal cords of the belt and leads to premature failure. You should never bend the belt into a loop any smaller than your front pulley. Primary drive belts are more difficult to install than final drive belts. I've seen people replace these belts, fire the engine and bust the new belts immediately. $150 down the drain. Man, that's a lot of work on a Road King to replace the belt only to have it break again. Better luck next time.

Drive belts break after 10 mins

could be a few things causing these problems make sure you check all the pulleys have no defects like small chips cracks or dents cus the this tends to cause belts breaking make sure the belts are not to tight or too lose this can cause problems if somethings out of line it will tend to throw your belt off not break

CD Rom drawers do not open or close, drive belts have popped out

Unfortunatly, these belts are not availible for consumer purchase and, most service centers will just replace the entire device. i have used regular rubber bands that are identical in size to run many rom drives. this method seems to work just fine.

Its very unfortunate when these original belts break and, there is no replacment belt on the market. the only option is to purchae a store bought rubber band that matches the same size as the broken original band. this will work.
