Question about Husqvarna Designer I

I damaged my husqvarna dongle during a move. I've searched to see if I can replace just the dongle, but have had no success. Does anyone know if we can just replace the dongle or must we purchase a whole new software package? Thanks in advance :)

    Thank you all for your help.
    We figured I had nothing to lose so my husband
    took it apart and then repaired it. It works like a charm once again :)

Take it to an authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer and they should be able to help you purchase a new one. Check the Husqvarna Viking website for dealer location closest to you.

    For future reference: I verified with our local authorized dealer. The broken dongle can be returned by an authorized dealer to Husqvarna Viking and a replacement will be issued at a cost of $75.

Viking customer svc # is 800-446-2333 but software support no longer has a 800 # the new number is 440-808-6730 the also charge for their svc now but will give you 1 complimentary call.. good luck, I didn't have any when I called to use my 3D on Vista, everythings works, I just can't SEND to my Designer SE

If I recall correctly it is all new software. Dongles are not sold separately. Viking used to have an 800# to talk software for consumers. Sorry I do not have it.

You should contact the software vendor. They should be happy to replace your non-working dongle for a new one, even for a very old software version. They may have to charge you for the replacement dongle, but it should be much less than the cost of new software.

If they balk, know that there are now many different software options out there for much less than the typical dongle-enabled packages. Don't pay $1200 for an 'upgrade' if you can get a different package for $99. Search Google for 'embroidery software' and you'll see a lot of choices.

My VIP customizing reader writer box suddenly

Does your reader require a dongle/hard key? If so is it fitted correctly into the machine?

If that isn't the case perhaps an email to Viking/Husky is in order.

My husband upgraded my cmputer but forgot to take the dongle off. Can I get a new one?

What did he do with the old computer? Can you get the dongle back? It would be useless for anyone else - you cannot even format them to use as regular USB sticks - and they are virtually irreplaceable. The replacement cost is the same as purchasing the software, I'm afraid. Either get new software or a new husband LOL! A cheaper alternative than the Husqvarna software is Embird. It's not my first choice personally, but is 1/10th the cost of the HV program and there's NO DONGLE!

I bought a husqvarna viking 3d sketch 3years ago but never used it. the dongle with the system does not work, viking have refused to replace dongle, despite the system being brand new with origional...

I'm afraid there's nothing you can do about the replacement dongle. Have you taken your software and dongle into your dealer and had them try installing it on their computer? Or if you have a laptop, take yours in and see if they can help you. It may just be a matter of downloading new dongle drivers. Do a Google search for 3D Dongle drivers - I think Aladdin has the drivers you need. Also you will need to be running XP or Vista 32-bit on your computer for 3D software to work.

Software will not work without the dongle. Dongle went with debris from the ceiling to a landfill. Cannot get a new one unless I have pieces or old non working dongle. Do not think I should have to

If you have the original receipt or can get one from your dealer, Husqvarna will replace your dongle for about $200, if they still support the version you have. I think they still support 3D software dongles. If its Just the "Pro" software that's about 10 years old, they simply won't have any dongles to help you with. The $2100 price is also for the whole new software package, not just a dongle. They have made many, many improvements in the software, if your's was the original Pro series.

I believe that the information that you have been given is correct. The VIP dongle is no longer available.
As for the second part of the question, do you have a damaged dongle or has it been lost completely? If it has been lost, there is no way to replace it without buying a new software package.

New computer does not recognize dongle

I've just found the UK site for Husqvarna - and have successfully downloaded a dongle driver. Their site has some very useful info. Good luck and happy stitching. Cheers.
