Question about Watches

1 Answer

I purchased my Fossil watch two years ago and now it won't run. Jewelers told me it does not need a new battery. Will you repair my watch or replace it? I like this watch very much and trust you to take care of this problem. What shall I do?

What battery does fossil architect fs2301 use?

Get a jewelers screwdriver and pop open the back at the crown and look and see. In the case you have lost the old battery, you will need the instructions from tour particular watch from Fossil, Call or e-mail them.

I bought my wife a Fossil watch with the Auburn University National Football Championship face. I have no idea which Fossil model it is. It arrived today & is not running. Question--What must I do to...

Make sure of course that the stem is pushed all the way in to start the watch. If it is all the way in then your battery must be dead. You can look around the edge of the back for a lifting area and use a pocketknife to pry the back off, the problem is with new watches you may need a jewelers watch press to get back back on. Also be aware some watches have screw off backs and some have screws those should go to your local jeweler...actually because its a new watch i would return it or at least take it to a watch repairman or a jeweler! Hope this helps!

We bought the Fossil Brown rectangle watch model FS4284, it stopped working so thought it was the battery. we replaced the battery and then 2 months later it's not working again, faulty battery or is...

  • Change the battery. If your watch stops ticking, chances are the watch is not broken and the battery simply needs to be replaced. You can purchase a watch battery at your local department store or drugstore. Use the screwdriver to pry the back off the watch and place the new battery in the same place where the old one fit.
  • Step 2 If your watch is still not working, determine the problem. If you can hear the watch ticking but the hands are not moving, there may be a gear stuck inside. If only one of the hands does not move, the hand itself could be broken. Once you determine the problem, you can see whether it makes more sense to purchase a new watch or get the old one fixed.
  • Step 3 Check your watch warranty. If your Fossil watch came with a warranty that is not yet expired, Fossil will fix your watch if you send it to the company and pay for shipping and handling. See the "Resources" section below to fill out the Watch Repair Form provided by Fossil.com. If your watch strap is broken, however, Fossil will charge you a fee as broken straps are not covered in the warranty.
  • Step 4 Check a competing local watch repair store. There are watch repair stores located all over the United States that will repair a Fossil watch if your watch is no longer under warranty or if you do not want to pay the shipping and handling to send the watch to Fossil's watch repair department. Although the watch repair store may not have the exact strap you are looking for, it may offer a replacement strap that is similar to the one that originally came with your watch.
  • Step 5 Return the watch to the store where you bought it. If you purchased a Fossil watch that was broken when you purchased it or broke recently after you brought it home, you may be able to return the watch for a refund or store credit. Check with the store's policy before purchasing the watch if you are concerned about returns.

Need a new glass for my fossil watch fossil blue CH2435

This is will take a jeweler or watchmaker to fit with a new crystal.
1st take this watch to the point of purchase and see if they can assist you, sometimes they will surprise you and depending upon the age of the watch may replace.
2nd beyond that usually only independant jewelers will work with fossils, almost all chains will not allow their employees to even change batteries in a Fossil (they are easy to break).

I need a new watch band.

Both metal and leather straps are available over the internet. I, however, recommend going to a jeweler that both sells and installs watch bracelets and straps. This will ensure a proper fit and you will have the opportunity to actually see the styles on your watch before purchase.
Generally, independant jewelers are the place to go for this as chains are too scared of messing up your watch to even change your battery.

Phillipe Stark PH1079 watch - Can't get back off to replace bat

There is nothing wrong with your watch. The problem is in tools the jewellers are using for opening the watch.
Despite being under one roof, watchmaking and jewellery are completely different trades and are miles apart. Jewellers usually are equipped with very basic watch repair tools and the case openers are no exeption.
You have to find your nearest watch repair shop and ask for watchmaker, not jeweller. Any decent watchmaker will have the right tool to open your watch and replace the battery in a matter of minutes.
Do not forget to rate, please.
