This is a common problem with microwave ovens and is easy to diagnose. Whenever I replace the fuse, I always perform this test. I don't want the unit coming back in a couple of days with the same problem.
Install a known good fuse. It should be a 20 Amp, Slo-Blo, with a ceramic body. Leave the cover off. Place a container with at least 2 cups of water inside the unit. Cook on high for at least 5 minutes. As soon as it finishes, UNPLUG the unit and feel the fuse. If it is extremely hot, the fuse is going to fail in a short period of time. The fusible material inside the fuse is melting from this excessive heat. It only takes a small amount of resistance at the fuse holder contacts to create this amount of heat. Replace the fuse holder rated at least 20 Amps. The higher the better.

SOURCE: Microwave keeps blowing fuse

If it blows the fuse as soon as you hit the START button, it's almost certainly a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it blows a few seconds after you hit the START button, it's probably the high-voltage transformer. You'll possibly also smell a faint electrical burning smell from the rear vent after you shut if off.

If it blows the fuse as soon as it's plugged in, you probably have a shorted door switch, a shorted varistor, or an internally exposed wire shorting to the chassis, etc.

SOURCE: Microwave keeps blowing fuse

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that\'s usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that\'s usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

SOURCE: microwave blowing fuses

Sanyo isn't that great of a manufacturer.. I had a microwave from them a few years back that did the same thing.. The wiring inside the microwave is shot.. if you were to open it up, you'd probably see some burnt wires from a short. If you use the microwave over a range, it may be because of grease build-up...

anyhow, its better that you invest in a new microwave, rather than fix it. It will be much more cost efficient

SOURCE: My microwave keeps blowing the fuse upon hitting the start button

you have one of three problems (H.V. diode shorted or leaky, H.V.capicitor shorted, or the magnrtron tube is beginning to draw excessive current)if thats the case its not usually worth spending that for the mag.,the other two items aren't that expensive

SOURCE: Ewave over the stove microwave fuse blows when I

The light is the only thing that comes on when you open door. You either have a shorted door switch (Micro switch) or a shorted bulb. You have either a shorted bulb or bad socket. From my experience, it's the bulb. Just because it may seem to start to come on when you open the door, it's most likely bad. At least it not expensive.

Kenmore Micro/Oven fuse keeps blowing

Disconnect the connector to the primary winding of the high voltage transformer. Put a new fuse . If the fuse is not blowing the problem may be in the secondary side of the high voltage transformer. Chek the highvoltage diode, capacitor, magnetron respectively. you can also check the primary winding of the low voltage transformer.

The fuse blows when i plug the microwave in with the door closed

first you gotta detach the button plate ( the thing with all the buttons) using a flathead screwdriver .Keep pushing it is stuburn. It will pop back in when you are done. the fuse is behind that. just take it out and put the new one in.

Fuses keep blowing out

In case it's still helpful, I'll inject a little sanity into the replies.

If the fuse blows as soon as you hit Start, it's probably a shorted high-voltage capacitor. That's usually economical to repair.

If the fuse blows a few seconds after you hit Start, it's probably a shorting high-voltage transformer. That's usually not economical to repair.

It's not radiation (non-ionizing RF by the way) that's the hazard, it's the voltages.
