First you have to get the headcover off. After that use a butter knife and/or flat head screwdriver and press forward on the four tabs that retain the pedal. Old Handle just prys off, a new one will press on.

TRY this one:

Remove window cover on light - press in on both sides - there are 2 screws under that - remove them.

Turn over head there are 2 plastic like clips on each side that you need to press in on using a screw driver or force the sides out to clear them - it is marked on the outer rubber if you look carefully. Gentley separate the top from the bottom from back to front. It will snap as it releases from the front - be careful not to break anything. You are in - be gentle removing the bar.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press the light housing on both sides and then remove those long screws. Flip it over and use the screw driver to pry on the sides where the arrows are on the rubber, Look in that slot and see which way to puch the screw driver so you do not crack the housing. Once the sides are loose, you will have to jiggle it and wiggle it to get the cover off.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope this works for you, Goods luck!

Hello there

Is this the handle which attaches to the main suction hose? Having some difficulty finding the model you have stated, but if so, and if the broken handle is still attached, try to 'unscrew' the hose from the broken handle instead of pulling on it and see if it begins to loosen. Then place the new handle on the same way.

If I have completely missed your question, I appologize. If there is any other detail about the model please let me know.

Thank you

Cord got into brush area. pulled cord and now rollers will not turn. Beltless drive Vacuum kenmore 3 years old 11635922500

Greetings,

Your Kenmore Beltless Drive upright model 116.35922500 has an overload protection system designed on it. This will prevent anything from damaging the brush motor, or your roller brush if you were to vacuum up something in it (i.e. your cord).

The reset switch can be found in this below diagram as item # 3. This would be the first thing I would try. Simply just push down on the red switch actuator while the vacuum is on, then recline the handle down. Did this fix it?

If this doesn't fix it, please let me know by requesting a clarification request, or by adding a comment to the repair here on Fixya. I think from how you explained it that this should fix your vacuum cleaner. I hope this helped you. If this was helpful, please be sure to rate the repair solution as helpful by clicking the thumbs up icons in the top right hand corner of the repair. Thank you very much,

My purple proggesive kenmore upright motor works but beater not beating help thank you

I just had the same problem - reset button didn't trip - cleaned the roller - ultimately found there is an override switch at the point where the hose attaches to the base of the vacuum - it disables the roller when you use the attachments. The hose had become loose (but not disconnected) enough to trip the switch. An easy fix after alot of tinkering... p.s. All those "experts" that said to change a belt obviously don't understand that this model is beltless...

I have a model 116.35922 beltless drive vacuum. The agitator brush will not turn with the vacuum running and the handle down. The brush turns by hand and the reset button has not popped. Ther is nothing...

I just had the same problem. The roller will not turn if the unit is overheated. I discovered that my bag was too full. I changed the bag then the roller started turning again. I don't know if this is true cause and effect, but it couldn't hurt to try.

My kenmore beltless upright canister vaccuum doesn't spin anymore

Ensure the agitator is not bound up and can be moved manually by hand in both directions. Clean any string or binding material if you find it. Press the reset button on the top of the chassis. If it clicks, then you should try turning it on and see if the agitator spins. If it doesn't spin, I have had luck giving a sharp kick to the top of the chassis.

Clogged vacuum hose, new carpet, have been through two vacuums already.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. When vacuuming it is a good idea to give your vacuum a burst of air once in a while to clear the hose and push the dust and dirt into the bag, simply just lift up on the powerhead or vacuum hose and give it a burst of air every 5 or 10 minutes. Also, we you like to know the brand name and model # of the vacuum. Some of the ways are to use a round metal ball or marble to see where the clog is in the hose and then you can use such things as the end of a broom handle, or you can use a wire coat hanger and bend the end to make a little hook and then try to grab the clog and say fish it out – or if you have another canister or shop vac you can tune on both canisters and try to pull the clog apart and sometimes that works as well – just be careful so that you do not puncture the electric hose because they are expensive in the area of $100.00 or more in some cases. If you need further assistance please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
