Unlock the security chip for a ibm t 60 thinkpad

IBM-branded Thinkpad T60 laptops from Lenovo are mobile computing devices that feature a keyboard lock for data security. When the lock is enabled, pressing the keys on the keyboard does not result in input to the computer. The lock hampers attempts by an unauthorized user from gaining access to your computer and your files. Lock your Thinkpad using the Function key. The Function key used in conjunction with other keys on the keyboard expand the laptop's number of available features.

Locate the "Fn" key in the lower left corner of your Thinkpad keyboard. Locate the "F2" key in the upper left area of the keyboard. Press and hold the "Fn" key, then press the "F2" key to toggle the "Lock" feature. Release both keys. Hope this helps.

Hot keys alerts won't appear on screen like they used to. The Fn key does work, but it suddenly doesn't show me on the screen that it is working.

You may need to re-install the keyboard drive.

If a new keyboard is requested, you can go to the website: www.battery-adapter.com/

My IBM think pad has an error message of "stuck key 01" pls. help [email protected]

If you've got a spare keyboard lying around give it a try and see if you get the same error message.
This means one or more of the keys on the keyboard is stuck down.
Look at the keys to see if one or more of the keys is lower than the others. If the key cannot be released or fixed then the keyboard needs to be replaced.
This problem can be caused by spill liquids on the keyboard.

If that doesn't work try resetting your BIOS back to its default settings.

Error 301 on IBM 600x

HelloThe IBM error 301 POST code means the keyboard is not responding correctly. Folowing may be the reasons:-
  • You could have a stuck key, or the keyboard cable is faulty and not making proper electrical contact.
  • You could have a faulty keyboard controller.
  • You may have a faulty keyboard which may had some fluid spilt on the keys.
  • Try clean and reconnect the keyboard cable.
If this doesn't work try connecting an USB keyboard and see if this keyboard functions correctly.

If none of these work you have a motherboard problem.

Good luck, and do rate the solution if got help

Hi, I have an IBM Thinkpad T41 2373 XGX. The number keys, function keys and other top keys of my keyboard have stopped working. Also, shortcuts like ctrl C, Ctrl V etc. are not working. It is not a...

sounds like a faulty keyboard to me, I recommend removing the keyboard, and blowing out the connector with a can of air and reinstalling the keyboard. if that does not work I would connect a USB keyboard to make sure it is not a setting. If a USB keyboard is working fine, replace the keyboard.

Problem with keyboard replacement in IBM Thinkpad R52

The keyboard you purchased (39T0704) is a US English keyboard. Change your input local in your "Keyboard" "Control Panel" to "EN English (United States)" and all your keys should work. As far as getting the English keyboard to work in German or Polish is very unlikely.
