My infocus projector turns on and shows the red infocus screen, but the remote and the power panel on the projector do not work. It will only turn off by unplugging it from the power source?

I got a replace lamp message and ignored it. Finally a warning screen came up saying that the "filter" was clogged and the unit is shutting down. I shut down the projector and found that mine, an IN26, doesn't have serviceable filters.

I vacuumed the fan and replaced the old lamp. The bulb blew out. I shut the unit down and replaced the lamp with a friends spare bulb. I couldn't close the sliding cover that is there to give me access to the lamp.

Also, I noticed that the lamp was sitting flush in the space allotted for it. However, the I was able to start it up, but when I first turned it on there was a blinking green light and I got no light from the bulb.

I found that the socket for the bulb's power -- a white 4 prong female (looks like a computer 12v 4 prong power socket) socket was elevated and prevented me from closing the sliding lamp cover.

Is there a failsafe mechanism that causes the socket to stick above the plane of the sliding lamp cover? Does anyone know if a new bulb would fix the problem?

Hi there

Is it only the Welcome screen that doesn't work ? Or doesn't the Projector show a image at all ?

    Hi there

Ok , that means that your Projector's Ballast ( lamp's powersupply ) is faulty.

It is quite cheap to have replaced.

Replacing the lamp module requires special considerations:
  1. Turn off the projector.
  2. Wait 30 minutes for the projector to cool down and then unplug it.
  3. On the bottom of the projector, loosen the two screws on the lamp cover and then remove the cover.
  4. Loosen the two screws on the lamp module and pull out the module.
  5. Insert the new lamp module and tighten the two screws.
  6. Install the cover and tighten the two screws.
  7. Turn on the projector. If the lamp does not turn on after the warm-up period, try reinstalling the lamp again.
  8. Press enter on the projector or on the remote control to open the on-screen menu.
  9. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Setup and then press the right (c00589412.gif ) arrow.
  10. Press the up (c00589410.gif ) or down (c00589411.gif ) arrow to select Reset lamp hours and then press enter .

Benq w1000 project not turning on

Look at the manual page 34, for the indicator messages. I suspect it's the same problem I have (which I haven't had formally diagnosed yet!), which I believe is a defective fan. My projector had been making a really loud noise on startup, which varied in length and volume. Recently the projector has taken to turning itself off after being on for about a minute, and the power light flashes green, with the temp and lamp lights flashing red.

Be sure to check the filters and make sure you have good airflow thru the proj. Cleaning filters solved our temp shutdown problem.
