Re: excellent signal but not able get access online

I always see if the wireless works withOUT the burden of the encryption. Half the time the key was wrong just to spite me. Then add in encryption after you've proved everything else works. Another not-so-funny thing is the function key RadioOff (blue function key + F2 I think) gets hit by accident sometimes and turns the radio off without telling you. You can see a msg in the Dell Wireless software on the..second tab I think, when this toggles off...--Jeb

Can't enable Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card

I had the exact same problem and went through the same steps that he did. It was only when I searched for a physical wireless switch (on the left side of my Dell D630) that the problem was solved. I didn't even know it was there and must have inadvertently knocked into the off position.

No wifi after updating 1390 dell wlan drive from dell site

What update are you talking about... a windows update, Drivet Update or an Upgrade of OS...

If it is a automatic update try reatoring the system to a previous date by Start> Run... type Restore n Double Click the rstrui.exe ... follow simple steps it asks n restore n check if it works now... you can also update your Wireless drivers n then also to power cycle the wireless router by switching off everything then first switching on the Modem (The ISP provided one)... wait two minutes n then switching on the wireless unit n then after two minutes switching on the laptop

Wireless card in E1505 Dell not finding networks in range

The 1390 WLAN Minicard may not be configured to communicate with your wireless router.
Check the wireless router settings, (check the wireless settings on your other computer) and configure the 1390 WLAN with the same settings eg. SSID, WEP/WAP encryption, etc.
Is MAC address filtering enabled on your wireless router, if so add the MAC address of the 1390 WLAN to the MAC address list in the wireless router.

Check the TCP/IP properties of the 1390 WLAN card the Internet protocol should not have a fixed IP address, set it to Obtain an IP address automatically including the DNS.

Use the Ipconfig command to see the IP configuration of the network cards.

Use the Ping command to see if you can communicate with wireless router.
