Tried unplugging it, that didn't work. I just took the panel off on the inside of the freezer and everything in there is frozen with frost and ice.

Try unplugging it for 30 seconds and then plug it in again. It may reset itself that way.

Leave it unplugged withe the doors open and the panel off and let the ice melt. It will take a while and you will have to put your food somewhere else to keep it from spoiling. After the ice is melted and the fan is clear, etc. try starting up again and wait 24 hours before putting food back in if it comes down to temp. If it freezes up again the auto defrost may be not operating or the control board is malfunctioning (or the design of the fan/duct is defective and prone to freeze-up--I had that problem on an LG). If it is very humid in your area try to minimize the amount of time the doors are opened.

The first thing to check is if you can hear the fan running inside the freezer. This not only keeps the whole freezer cold it alspo circulates air down to the refrigerator keeping it cool as well.

possibly frosted up at the air door between the fridge and freezer, or the fan in the freezer is not pushing cold air into the fridge side, if you can not hear a fan running in the freezer when the fridge is running (compressor on) then change out the fan

Most likely, if you can hear the compressor running, the fan inside the freezer is not working. When the compressor is running, open the freezer and listen for the fan running. If you don't hear it, locate it and, with a voltmeter, test for voltage across the terminals. If you have voltage present, replace the fan. You can buy replacement fans at a local appliance parts store, internet parts suppliers, even ebay.

GSS22KGMC WW side-by-side refridgerator not cold anymore

I have no idea to this day, what caused the complete lack of cooling in my freezer and refridgerator. However, it seems to be working fine now. All I did was turn the compressor and fan totally off, let it rest for a few minutes, and then turn it back on. It seems to have "re-booted the system, and now everything is working normally. The ice-maker is once again making ice! It has been three days or so now, and so far, so good!
