Hello Karl, You have a DLP chip going bad. You can see one a www.shopjimmy.com and when you go there type in the model number of your set and it will be at the top of the list. Price and availability is mentioned as well.

Had the same problem and stumbled on the code for the Proton tv, 10178. (We use a Comcast Cable remote) It works! For us at least... Good luck!
