Water in base pan of my daewoo dcw 055rl

Water in base pan of my daewoo dwc o55rl . I am wondering if a couple of holes at the base of the unit will do the trick. That way the water drops to the ground in stead of the window. Any comments??

Your clock board is bad. This happens when moisture from the outside gets into the electronic circuit board. This is common with your model of AC.

Hello, I have a brand new AC of that model, in the box with remote that I'd be happy to sell. That way you could have two AC units and a remote. I'm in Laguna Beach, CA.

Water leaking from base of unit during operation

dehumidification is something that AC units do as a by-product of cooling so yes, it is acting as a dehumidifier. there is a coil (copper tubing snaking back and forth through metal fins like on a radiator) that water condenses on and drips off of. That water will fall in to a pan and then will either evaporate or run through a drain. Make sure the path from the coil to the drain pan is clear. The water will either drip down (pan sloped to a corner or hole) or run through a tube to the drain pan. The drain pan is the part that had the drain plug in it. If that pan was dry the condensate is reaching the pan. If it is full that means either the drain is plugged up or the unit is pulling humidity out of the air faster than it can evaporate. Check to make sure any drain tube is clear and that the path for the condensate (water) is sloped the right way - not shaken loose or tipped to the wrong side.
That should get you started. Let me know if I can be of any other help.

Good Luck!

You don't have to remove the polystyrene that is inside the unit. It is part of the construction of the unit. It is part of the molded construction.
