Question about Acer Aspire 5050-3242 Notebook
See this article. If you have a recovery disk, or windows installation disk, you can run the recovery console to examine your hard drive for corruption (by running chkdsk according to instructions here & here) or to repair the master boot record, etc.
On the other hand, here's a more general startup troubleshooting guide that may help you...
I don't know Acers very well, so those are more general instructions. If you have a recovery partition, and can access that, you may be able to repair the windows installation. Otherwise, you can order cds from Acer here.
