Muscle!! Once the screws are removed from the rear, you should be able to open up the cabinet. It is sealed. That is why it is difficult to pry open.

NO!! Thisis NOT correct. If you are having trouble opening the cabinet you must amake sure that ALL the screws are out. Some of them are hidden !!. Once all screws are out, it is easy to open !
THERE IS NO NEED TO USE MUSCLE !!

The top part of the mackie speaker isnt working. all that is working is the big bottom part, and the sound sounds like the bass is the only thing coming out.

The typical cause of this is a blown tweeter or the tweeter has broken off of the horn and fallen inside the cabinet. Remove the screws from the horn and carefully remove the assembly. Try the speaker at low volumes to see if you hear any sound at all. Next, remove one of the wires and using a 9Volt battery quickly touch the 2 leads on the tweeter. If you don't hear a click, the tweeter needs to be replaced. Contact Mackie service for a replacement.

If you hear a click, then the problem is in the crossover or amp and further investigation willbe required.

ONLY GETTING MUFFLED SOUND FROM ONE OF MY MACKIE SRM V2 SPEAKERS,HAVE CHANGED DIAPHRAM BUT PROBLEM STILL THERE

If you've changed the tweeter and the sound is still muffled the fault is with the HF amp, or the cross-over. You will have to send the amp assembly for repair as it is all surface mount components in there -nothing you will be able to fix yourself. Sorry for the bad news!

Hi; My mackie srm450 is not giving bass anymore what can I do to repair it ?

FIrst of all this is not a repair site per se. We help by providing information that you may require to repair something.

For your specific problem, there can be many causes. The speaker itself can be defective, the amp may be blown or the crossover could be malfunctioning. Without seeing the actual unit, I cannot possibly know which is the case. These are decent units and rarely fail in this manner. In my experience, the likely problem is the speaker itself. You can contact Mackie directly for a replacement. If you have an ohmmeter, disconnect one of the speaker wires and measure across the speaker terminals. You should read either 6 or 3.6 ohms. If you read infinity, the coil is open and the speaker must be replaced. If you feel that you cannot attempt this repair, please update this with your location so I can suggest a repair facility close by.

Thanks,
Dan

Need a replacement tweeter for mackie srm 450 where can i find one

Go to the link below to either locate a dealer near you for the part or to contact Mackie directly for the part. Please note that the diaphragm may be available as a separate part. Do you need the entire tweeter or just hte diaphragm?

How to open a Mackie SRM450

Sorry about the late response. These units are sealed at the factory and opening them up for the first time is a bit of work. Make sure that all the screws are out of the unit and using a large screwdriver, carefully pry up one side. It will be difficult. Apply steady pressure and the back will eventually free up.

Repair a Mackie SRM 450 Speaker The Speaker is making a crackling sound while playing. The sound keeps cracking up.

You probably need to replace the diaphragm. The diaphragm is located behind the back cap. Simply remove the back cap, remove the diaphragm, clean the voice coil gap with a piece of masking tape, install a new replacement diaphragm, reinstall the back cap. That it!
You can see videos on how to replace diaphragm at this link.

Mackie srm450 the tops on one speaker is not working

Hi There, This is quite a common problem with the Mackie SRM450's. You will find that you need to replace the diaphram on the top. This can be done by removing the 16 screws from the back of the Mackie (quite a long pain in the **** job) with a long handled cross head screw driver.

Once you have done this you should then remove the hex bolts from the back of the drive where the black and right terminals are. When this is done, pull off the cover and swap the diaphram out. With the new diaphram in place reverse the steps above but before you screw the back on, power it up carefully and check the sound is now working.

If the diaphram keeps going eg every 3 to 4 months then you will need to change the driver which is quite expensive to do. If you need spares and are based in the UK, contact LondonSpeakerShop.com who carry spare parts or can undertake the repair.

Hope this helps.
