Do an ipconfig (cmd-ipconfig) and see if the router is assigning your PC a 192.168.2.x address If not, perform a hard reset on the router and try again until your PC gets a valid local 192.168... address. When an ip address is asigned reconfigure the router with dhcp enabled

Easy, if your modem is connected to your computer right now and internet is working all you need to do is connect your LAN line to your belkin router. the connection should say input, or Internet. after that you will need another LAN wire (These look like telephone cables but the jack plug is larger and will only fit a lan connection on your router or computer) Connect the second wire to the line 1 or outout 1 from your router, to your pc in the slot where the other cable was connected. your internet signal should work.... on your mobil find any available network and log in to your belkin router.
that should do it.... if you haven't set up your internet connection, do that first by installing the drivers for the modem provided by your provider and then complete the process above.
IF u are using the BSNL broadband connection, you might be having a modem provided by the BSNL, 7230 model is only a router, it doesnt have modem option so all u have to do is
1. Go to belkin page 192.168.2.1(if u changed the ip address in router, then type the default gateway of the router) 2. Click on connection type 3. Setup as a dynamic connection since the PPPoE is already set on the modem 4. Follow the on-screen instructions 5. Check the internet status, if its still showing as not connected then powercycle the router for 15 sec and then reconnect the cable
Hope it will work
If Belkin Setup
does not run when you insert the CD-ROM, your computer may not be configured to
open CDs automatically.
If Belkin Setup
does not appear within 15 seconds, browse to your CD-ROM drive and open the
"Belkin Setup" icon.
may visit HYPERLINK "http://router/"
or "192.168.2.1" and perform the
setup manually.Belkin Setup cannot
find my Router.
If Belkin Setup is not able to communicate with your router
during the installation process, please check the following items.
Make sure that the
wireless hardware on your computer is turned on, if available.
Try connecting your
computer to one of the four "wired" ports on the Router with an Ethernet
Ensure that the
Router is on. The front panel LED should be lit.
Unplug the Router's
power supply for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. There may be firewall
software on your computer preventing an outgoing connection. You may choose to
temporarily disable this software before attempting setup.
once you login to router page by 192.168.2.1 under wireless click channel & ssid ->change a diffent name in ssid under wireless click- >security ->use 64 bit wep and disablw wifi protected set uo would work fine
With the F5D7230v8 (firmware 8.00.06 and 8.00.10) and the F5D7231v3 (firmware 3.00.06), when the router restarts the switch does not restart. You can see this on the LED panel: when the power and wireless LEDs go off, the LEDs for the wired computers remain on. This applies to changes in web interface that make the router restart as well as to resetting the router with the reset button.
As a result, computers that are hard wired to the router will not temporarily loose their connection to the LAN, and will not renew their IP address when the connection is re-established. If the change to the router's settings involved changing the router's IP address, these machines will not be able to connect any more until the IP address on the machine is manually renewed.
For the F5D7230v8, the problem has been solved in the (QA Approved) version 8.00.16 of the firmware. An update is available from the Belkin UK Support Site.
It is unlikely that there will be a solution for the F5D7231v3 as the G+ range of products is phased out.
type in http://192.168.2.1 in start>run>
you will get the interface which say Router set up page
>click on security under wireless extream left
>if you have password enter click submit (if not) live password blank click submit
>select the security type
>creat the password
>cloce the belkin page
> and connect the wireless computer to the secured network
I have a Mac Pro and a Belkin F5D 7230-4 Router. The Mac links to the WiFi but will not go on to the internet. The Router works fine with a wired PC and other wireless PCs. I have updated the Belkin with the latest Firmware but it does not help. I have tried powering down the Router and Modem
Has the computer ever stayed on long enough to connect to the internet?
Is there a wired computer working when attached to the router?
If not, if possible please try to connect the laptop wired to the router as a test and tell me if it works.
I am trying to determine if your router works with the internet before considering the wireless connection simplying the initial problem. Once the router works wired is time to try the wireless. Once the wireless works unsecured you may want to change the router and wireless adapter to secure the wireless network. So this can be a three step process.
