The paper jams when it tries to feed. I have turned the printer off and discontected the power and cable feed. After reconnecting and turning the printer back on the problem still occurs. There is a clicking sound when the paper gets jammed that continues until I turn the printer off and remove the jammed paper. The problem is happening everytime I try to print. Can you help?

Use only recommended paper. Paper must be straight and low moisture content. Moisture can cause such problems.
If the problem remains then I ask whether your printer is new or dismantled for repairs?

THE hp 3800 IS READING A PAPER JAM HOWEVER THERE IS NO JAM.

Hi

It is likely that there is a paper jammed that can be found in the rear paper tray, paper feeder roller, inside the toner cartridge compartment and in rear back door of the printer. Inspect this places and look for paper jammed.

If not, try to reset your printer manually.

Remove the USB cable into the printer and leave the printer on.
Remove all the cartridges.
Close the cartridge door and wait for the INSERT CARTRIDGE MESSAGE APPEAR.
Disconnect the power cable and from the power source supply.
Wait for couple of minutes.
Reconnect power cord and turn on the printer.
Return all the cartridges and close the door. .
Print the test page to check if it working.
Reconnect the USB cable and try to print again.

Check paper light is blinking. No paper jam exists, have cleaned rollers but printer will not grab paper. Have tried replacing with fresh paper but no result. Will not print test page, gives same error.

Paper jams can occur for a variety of reasons but are usually paper related. Follow the steps below to clear the paper jam:
1) Turn off the all-in-one and unplug the power cord. With the power off, the paper feed rollers will turn.
2) Open the rear access door of the all-in-one by pressing in on the left side of the access door and then pulling it toward you.
NOTE: All paper jams must be removed by pulling the paper out the back of the all-in-one using the rear access door. Pulling the paper out the front of the all-in-one rotates the paper feed rollers in the wrong direction and can lead to additional problems.
3) From the rear access door opening, gently pull the jammed paper free.
4) Remove the remaining paper from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper that is damaged or crumpled and then re-stack and reload the paper into the paper supply tray.
Do not continue to push the paper in after some resistance is felt. If the paper is pushed in too far, more than one page will feed into the all-in-one at a time.
5) Reattach the rear access door by inserting the two pins on the right of the door into the holes for them and then pressing in gently but firmly on the left side.
6) Reconnect the power cord to the unit and turn the unit on.
7) if it does not work ... clean the rollers from the rear door of the printer
8) try different wall outlets..
9) then do a power drain by unplugging the power chord from the back of the printer. press and hold the power button for 30 sec and then replug the power chord.
10)if issue does not get resolved service the product

Says paper is jammed, but there is no paper in the printer anywhere.

Hello

First of all power cycle your printer by doing the following

When the printer turns OFF, release the buttons

Now turn ON the printer

Press the Power button and open the cartridge access door. If the carriage tries to move to the center of the product, allow it to move to that position.

With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

CAUTION: You must disconnect the power cord to move parts by hand without the risk of an electrical shock.

Unplug the power cord from the power source or electrical outlet.

Check for any paper or object that might be restricting the carriage,You might need a flashlight to illuminate areas for proper viewing.

Make sure that the carriage can move freely across the width of the product by gently pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right.

Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.

Turn it on.

If the issue persists ,Clean the rollers,Dust, paper fiber, and other debris might accumulate on the paper feed rollers and cause paper jams and paper feed issues. Follow these steps to clean the paper feed rollers.

Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.

Press in the tab on the left side of the rear access door to release the door. Pull the door away from the product to remove it.

Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with bottled or distilled water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from the cloth.

Press the cloth against the paper feed rollers, and then rotate them upwards with your fingers. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to remove any dust or dirt buildup.

Allow the rollers to dry for 10 or 15 minutes.

Check the paper feed rollers on the rear access door to make sure that they are clean, free of paper bits, and rotate freely.

Will not print because paper always jams

Perhaps there is paper still jammed inside the printer that you cannot see (or little bits from a previous jam)

1) Turn off the power
2) Disconnect the power cord and USB cable
3) Open the rear cover and see if paper is jammed inside the cassette area. Gently remove any paper and make sure no little bits of paper are left inside
4) Open the scanning unit (printer cover) and check that no paper is stuck internally. Be careful not to touch the components inside the printer.
5) Reattach the power cord and USB cable
6) Power On and retry your print job

Paper jam message, but actually no paper jam

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button.

4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

My Kodak ESP5 keeps saying "Paper Jam please remove paper jam" But there is no paper in it?

My esp 5 gave me this same message. I'm not an expert but here is what worked for me.

I turned off and disconnected both cables (usb and power) then reconnected and turned on.
At this point it still read paper jam, so I took ink cartridges out and paper out.
I then reinstalled ink cartridges and PULLED OUT THE PAPER TRAY to it's FULL capacity, added about 5 sheets of paper, and on the main menu I chose the allignment function and printed a test page and suddenly....no jam!
Hope this works for someone. For some reason pulling the tray all the way out cleared the "jam" message for me. Now if I could just get the new ink cart to work I'd be all set! Good Luck!
