Question about Dell INSPIRON 1300 Celeron 1.4GHZ,256MB DDR,CDRW/DVD,WIFI,40GB,15" WIDE LCD,WINDOWS XP (617977104046) PC Notebook
I have Dell Inspiron 1300, CD Drive is working, I can read CDs ... I'm getting an alert when I try to burn an audio CD saying "Couldn't find an Audio disk". Anybody help me to fix this
right click on "my computer"
Device Manager button
click the + or plus sign on CD/DVD/CDRW drive
right click on your cd drive
click the + sign on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
right click on each option
and uninstall all of them
*if you have not uninstalled everything, do not click on "YES" for restarting the pc. make sure you uninstall everything first then restart it.
*after the restart, just wait for all the devices to install by itself and wait for the message for another restart then restart the pc again.
after that, if the issue is still not resolved, the you need to find a firmware for the cd drive then if updating the firmware doesn't works, then I suggest to replace the optical drive or if the system still has warranty, call Dell Tech Support for replacement drive.
Hope this helps!
