Slow water drain from Royal whirlpool tub. How to

I have a Royal Whirlpool tub that drains the water very slowly. I don't know the model number and cannot remove the drain stopper. The drain stopper is a watco pull and turn kind with a decorative knob riding on top a brass post. I don;'t see any screws under the stopper.
Thanks,

Under the decorative knob there is a screw, this is what holds the stopper in place.if not it should just unscrew.

There should be a check valve in the drain hose to prevent that.

DU801 is not the complete model number. Find the complete model number. It should be just inside the door on the right side of the tub.
Go to sears parts direct. And enter your model number and find the part number for the drain hose of your dishwasher. The number in the video may be the correct one.

Water filling up slowly in the tub

The problem can actually be caused by the water inlet valve leaking by, or a faulty pressure switch. Both are fairly simple to replace. The following link explains how to diagnose the problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3753262-front_load_washer_fills_when_not_in_use

I have included steps on how to replace both parts, and web resources to search for replacements. If the model number is correct, the replacement part numbers you may need are:

Water Inlet Valve - 8181694
Pressure Switch - 8181695

If you have any questions about this repair, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Wash stops, beeping, flashing F and 02

I'll just take a swing at this one, without model number.............F-02 is typically a Whirlpool error code for " slow drain". If this is a Kenmore or Whirlpool front loader, pull off the bottom panel and check the pump filter, (pump should be right up front, turn counter-clock-wise to remove filter) clear of any debris, check hose from tub to pump as well. NOTE! If there is water in the machine, it will pour out of the pump, first remove the water either with a wet-vac, or just do it very slowly and carefully at the pump, draining the water into a pan.

Repairing the Water Pump

The error code occurs if the pump does not drain within (I believe) 8 minutes. With the tub empty, you have no resistance from anything to obstruct the flow of water. With the tub full, its going to put a bit more strain on the pump to extract water. If the pump motor or impeller are damaged, it may be just enough to cause the pump to run slow enough while the tub is full and cause the error code. If you have already verified all the drain lines to be clear, and have no drainage issues with your household plumbing, the manufacturer recommends you replace the drain pump.

Go to searspartsdirect.com and type in the model number you provided. The pump will be located under the "Pump and Motor" heading as item number 10 (part #280187). It is only sold as a complete unit.

Check your drain pump, or drain line for obstructions. The number one cause of insufficient drainage in this model washer is debris building up inside the clean out trap on the drain pump. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385845-checking_drain_pump_in_whirlpool_duet

Make sure you check all the drain lines as well. Another common thing that can cause slow drain issues are small articles of clothing getting caught in the drain hose that is attached to the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the pump. It has happened to me on occasion to find socks, underwear and wash cloths lodged in this area. You can usually squeeze the hose to determine if there is anything blocking it. NOTE: In some models, there is a ball valve in the upper most portion of this drain line where it attaches to the wash tub. This is supposed to be there.

If anything has been lodged in the pump impeller for significant periods of time, this can potentially cause damage to the impeller and/or motor. This will affect pump performance. If clearing the pump and verifying that there are no clogs does not fix your problem, more than likely you have a drain pump that is beginning to fail.

If you find that you need to replace the pump, a replacement can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your complete model number and look for item number 10 (part #8181684) under the "Pump and Motor Parts" heading. The next link explains how to replace the pump (if required):

I hope you find this information helpful. Let me know if you require additional assistance.
