Question about Maytag SkyBox MBV1976A Beverage Dispenser

1 Answer

One button dispenses every other time it is pressed

Left hand button/top 8 can beverage position will not dispense. The rotating cradle makes a loud thunk and stops in the positoin that is fully open to the drink compartment. All lights blink on front. If I open the machine and close it lights stop blinking, but it will not dispense.
I have previously had the block of ice problem and left the machine umplugged while on vacation and the ice block melted and things were working fine. I don't know what caused this most recent problem.
I could pull machine apart, but would rather know what I'm getting into before I try that. Also , if anyone knows where to get a service manual, please let me know.

Actually, I think the problem is that the magnet that is supposed to be in the little tab at the back of the flapper is completely missing, so the sensor never knows that the flapper has closed. I'm getting ready to order the magnet. Keeping fingers crossed that this works.

SUCCESS!! The probem was a tiny 1/4" diameter magnet that was missing on the plastic flap that lifts each time a can is dispensed. This magnet is located on the flap that is on the back side of this flap and is only visible if/when you remove the dispensing unit from the cabinet. I ordered several just in case I lose any more. Works like a charm.

Mine had what sounds like the same problem, and it was just a little flap next to the rotating drum that was stuck. It should be flat normally. Grab a flashlight and you'll see that there is a flap across the bin just before the drum, push it down gently so it lays flat.

Why won't my ice maker work

Hello Cynthia! Most likely the little "flap" inside the door of the dispenser is not closing all the way. My advice is to take all your ice out of the inside of the freezer. Clean and dry out that area as good as you can. Take your hand, and from the bottom, reach up and feel the flap that should close all the way when ice or water is dispensed. Take warm water, pour it from the top, you won't need much, and dry off the little flap as good as can be.
Now, press the ice button, and when you let go, you should hear a clunk or deep sounding slap, that is from the flap closing properly. Same goes for the water. However some manufacturers don't open the flap for water. From this point forward, assuming you heard the flap close, be sure it makes that same noise every single time you use the ice dispenser, or the water dispenser, and your problem should be solved.

F30 error code...what is this problem?

F30 is a dispenser failure code on the Duet Sport washer.
It means the dispenser motor will not go to the proper position.
Remove the top of the washer and inspect the dispenser linkage to see if it is binding up.
Post back with what you find and we will check from there.

Skybox beverage dispenser. will dispense one can

I had the same problem. Found the cover where the beverages dispense to be rusted and not resetting. After the can dispenses, just push the cover back into position and this should help.

Ice maker not getting water after changing filter

Check the following:
Is the freezer door closed completely?
Is the ice storage bin installed correctly?
Is there ice in the storage bin?
Has the ice frozen in the storage bin?
Is ice stuck in the delivery chute?
Has the wrong ice been added to the storage bin? Use only
cubes produced by the current ice maker.
Has the ice melted around the auger (metal spiral) in the
ice bucket?
Dump the ice cubes and clean the ice storage
Is the ice dispenser stalling while dispensing “crushed”
Change the ice button from “crushed” to “cubed.” If
cubed ice dispenses correctly, depress the button for
“crushed” ice and begin dispensing again.
Has the dispenser arm been held in too long? Ice will stop
dispensing when the arm is held in too long. Wait 3 minutes
for dispenser motor to reset before using again.

The ON/OFF switch is located on the top right side of the freezer
To turn the ice maker on, slide the control to the ON (left) position.
To manually turn the ice maker off, slide the control to the OFF
(right) position.
NOTE: Your ice maker has an automatic shutoff. The ice maker
sensors will automatically stop ice production, but the control will
remain in the ON (left) position

Allow 24 hours to produce the first batch of ice. Discard the
first three batches of ice produced.
The quality of your ice will be only as good as the quality of the
water supplied to your ice maker. Avoid connecting the ice
maker to a softened water supply. Water softener chemicals
(such as salt) can damage parts of the ice maker and lead to
poor quality ice. If a softened water supply cannot be avoided,
make sure the water softener is operating properly and is well

The Dispenser Lock (on some models)
Your dispenser can be turned off for easy cleaning or to prevent
unintentional dispensing by small children and pets.
NOTE: The lock feature does not shut off power to the product, to
the ice maker, or to the dispenser light. It simply deactivates the
dispenser levers. The ice and water dispensers will not work.
Style 1: Press the LOCK BUTTON to lock the dispenser. Press the
UNLOCK button to unlock the dispenser.
Style 2: Press and hold the LOCK OUT button to lock the
dispenser. Press and hold the LOCK OUT button a second time to
unlock the dispenser.
