The power bulb on the front flickers between orange and red whenever we switch on the dvd player or cable decoder. We get no picture or sound.
This has happened before, approx a year ago. and it started working normally again. The problem seemed to have cleared itself. But now we are back to square one.
Can you please help.?

Hi
You must have the tv on standby, that is why when you try to switch on decoder/dvd player.
Most common fault on a Thomson tv would be dry joints (bad soldering) mainly around hot and high voltage parts, eg transformers and high voltage transistors.
Unless you are into electronics field, know the safety procedures and have good soldering iron, take to a repair shop.
