If i am on the right track, the thermal fuse in our Frigidaire Affinity dryer is bad. Model number is faqe7011kwo. where is the thermal fuse located and can i get 1 at a local hardware store (Lowes

You cannot purchase this item at any home store as it is only available thru the distributors of appliance repair components. Your best opportunity would be to purchase it from . You can also see where it is located on your specific model by looking it up on the parts breakdown exploded view (normally on the blower outlet). If you can't figure out how to maneuver thru the diagrams, that would be a sign that you should contact a qualified service company to complete the repairs for you. Otherwise, you will have no trouble with the repairs if the troubleshooting was done properly.

My frigidaire dryer isn't heating up..and after 20min.. is displaying AD??

Is this the only code you are showing...The AD indicates the dryer is in the Auto Dry cycle....You most likely have a blow thermal fuse...A faulty heater coil...You would need to break dryer down and test components with a meter.
Here is a tech sheet you can download...This will walk you thru the troubleshooting.">

Blinking AD

AD is auto dry you may need to clean the sensor or you may have a fauilty one ...Auto Dry Loads dried using the Towels, Heavy Duty, Normal, Perm Press, and Delicates cycles will dry automatically at the selected temperature to the desired dryness level. The dryer uses sensing bars to sense the moisture level of the load as it tumbles through heated air. Auto Dry cycles save time and energy and protect fabrics. The estimated drying time will be displayed for about 5 minutes, then the outside of the display will light up in a circular track to indicate the drying time is automatically being determined by the sensors. When the load has reached the selected dryness level, it will continue to tumble, unheated, during a Cool Down period. This helps reduce wrinkling and makes items easier to handle during unloading. The estimated Cool Down time will be displayed. Drying time varies depending on size and dampness of load and fabric type. If the load is too small or almost dry, the sensing bars may not detect enough moisture to continue the cycle and the cycle may end after a few minutes. Select a Timed Dry setting to dry such loads. Room temperature and humidity, type of installation and electrical voltage or gas pressure can also affect drying time. For cycle selection turn the knob on the front of the dryer control panel. The light will illuminate next to the cycle selected. The following is a brief description for what cycles should be chosen for certain items and materials to be dried.

Gas dryer not maintaining heat. 70 Series Kenmore/Whirlpool 76722

Fuse is ok . Problem is the soils on the burner valve . If the dryer heats when started , the electricity goes thru the coils to open the valve . Once the coils get warm , 1 will open (short) until it cools back down . The coils can be replaced just by removing the front panel . Only 2 screws hold the coils in place . No turning off gas , dissasembling dryer .

"cooling" display won't turn off causing heating problems.

Try cleaning off the two curved metal bars (about 4 inches long) on the inside near the lint filter. They are what senses the moisture on automatic dry. When you use fabric softener sheets, the stuff from the fabric softener sheets can coat the bars, which makes the dryer think the clothes are already dry, and puts the dryer into cool down. (using time dry will also take the moisture sensor out of the cycle, if you'd like) This should be a Fix-Ya for your problem.

Dryer starts runs for 4min flashes e1 turns off

The E-1 error code is a thermistor error, some problem with the variable resistance.....this can be caused by over use of fabric softener sheets, which can cause lint to become tacky and coat the thermistor, or it just simply failed. Try replacing the thermistor.
