When my tablet is plugged in there's less a chance of it getting the black lines unless the charge is below 28%, When unplugged it usually will start the black lines immediatly, especially when playing a game that requires more from the tablet like Merge Dragons and will quickly get so bad you can'tplay the game. Playing something lik Slither io it's not as bad, you can play for a much longer time before the black lines start to appear.
Sometimes using the wrong amp charger for your device can cause performance/display issues like this. LG phones are notorious for shipping with a two amp charger designed only for fast charging and not to be plugged in all the time. If you wish to leave your device plugged in for long periods of time; I suggest getting a Duracell 1amp charger. You can find these on Amazon or Batteries Plus Bulbs stores. As far as the black lines; it is likely a performance issue due to overcharging.
Probably because your tablet requires a power source to provide energy to the GPU which is allowing your game to run.
Your tablet's GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) isn't that powerful and will need power to run efficiently.
I've never experienced your problem but that's the best answer I can provide.

well i had the same problem today and i was about to do the towel trick but decided totry using a hand vacume and sucking out any dust in the holes and it did work actually, the lines appeared for a couple minutes and i thought oh no! but then after maybe ten minutes they dissappeared for the rest of the night,

Sounds like 1- you have a virus or 2- your computer's graphics card is not sufficient for the game you are trying to play. Double check all the requirements, if you meet them you have a virus. Hope i've shed some light on the problem :)
