I just wanted to give you an update about how it worked out. When I called B&D, they said they would either replace or repair the blower at no cost to me, and they gave me the name and address of a local store. They accepted it without question and offered to mail a replacement, which arrived a few days later. The box included not only the new blower, but also a new battery and charger. That was unexpected! Congratulations, Black & Decker!
Remove inspection plate on bottom and clean dirt dobber nest.
SOURCE: leaf blower is loud and motor not set in correctly.
Sounds like the brushes on the motor are bad. Sorry, but this is not repairable. It could also be that the motor is not secured to it's support housing, but I would have to see it in person to make this determination. Electric leaf blowers are not made to be repaired, because it's usually cheaper to buy a new one. I know this is probably not what you wanted to hear. However.....since it is probably junked anyway, it's not going to hurt one bit to try and take it apart and tinker with it to see if there is an obvious problem. Just pay attention to how it comes apart, in case you want to put it back together. Hope this helps,
Chad

Take out all the screws. Gently remove half of the case. Put a shim in behind the plastic pivot that rocks the switch. I rolled up a 1/2" by 3" piede of duct tape and jammed into the back of the oval socket for the rocker. This pushes the rocker against the switch hard enough so that it rocks the switch properly. Snap the case into place and test the switch before you put the screws back in to make sure it is now working properly.

This might help. It's from the black and decker website. Should give you enough info to be able to remove the bag.
