I have an Emachines W6409. It has worked well for me over the past couple of years, but all of a sudden a cuple days ago, it restarted itself and it gets to the loading bar page, and does it again, over and over, never making it past the darn loading bar screen. Ive tried safe mode and norman, no difference. Can someone help please!?!?

im sorry but i dont exactly know how to get to the recovery console. can you explain it to me?

  • dewey wyatt May 11, 2010

try and see if you can get to the recovery console by booting from the disk. if you can try "fixboot" & or "fixmbr" and see if it helps. sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. you still have the option to restore. you are missing a file needed to boot if you can get the name you could do it that way too. hope this helps if not post back and we will try something else

If you haven't messed with anything inside the case lately, go in with a can of air and remove any dust particles, etc on the motherboard and other components.

If there is no loose wires touching the cabinet or other things inside. Or no dust is thickened to cause the problems. It could be a corrupt file in boot sector. Do you have recovery disc? Unfortunately, it may be the only to recover this computer is to reinstall. (losing all data).

But its hard to say, it could be several things causing your issue. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I recently purchased Two PNY 1Gb ram to upgrade from original 512mb. When I put both 1Gb ram in the slots, the computer will not boot up. When I take one out and put the original 512 back in with the other...

I don't know your specific model, but some of the Emachines had some memory directly on the motherboard. With the 1Gb and 512Mb sticks installed, boot the machine and report how much memory the system sees. Perhaps the onboard memory is causing you to exceed the 2Gb limit.

Please post the memory size you get here with the above sticks.

My emachines w6409 restarts over over and over

There is either a virus or Malware that causes that problem. If you have a Win XP CD put it in and try do a system restore from the earliest possible time. Or do a system recovery; it re-formats your hard drive to like it was when new.

Emachines W6409 that restarts over and over

Have you done any work inside the casing lately? Removing /installing or anything inside the casing?

If you have, check to make sure there are no wires touching the metal casing, or rubbing up against something inside the computer, that shouldn't be.

My brother recently had this problem. I hope this helps at least some. Good luck!

Washing machine - Need to replace motor cupling on the kenmore 90 series

you have to access the coupling by removing the housing of the machine,

you can tilt it a little bit to the back so that the motor is in your front.
remove the water pump clamps so that you can remove the pump.

unscrew the screws holding the clamps of the motor.( hold the motor tight, it is heavy)
remove the clamps, the motor will fell..

remove the motor and you can see that the coupling is attached to its shaft.

one coupling goes to the shaft of the motor, the other coupling goes to gear box shafting, and the rubber ring is in between the two coupling.

normally, only one coupling is damaged and you can just replace that coupling. you have the other two parts as spare.

i hope this would solve your problem.

tnx 4using fixya,
