Had this problem on a touchpad.
Solved by downloading touchfreeze

It sounds like the printer needs to be cleaned. If you open the case and look at all of the gears inside you may find a build up of what I call PAPER FLUFF. It is just loose particles that come off of your paper and over time will cause these problems.
If you clean out the guts real good and still have this problem then one of the gears or your drive motor is slipping. Look for damage gear teeth as this is most likely.
