Hello Bruce,
The instrument panel cluster (Dash gauges) is a plug- in package unit and designed to replace as complete component.
I cannot offer any specific advice as I do not have any idea what vehicle you are referring to but if the connects to the cluster are secure, you may be experiencing a instrument cluster failure.
There are companies that offer rebuilt exchanges for most vehicles
so google your make and model to check for availability and pricing.
SOURCE: dash on 97 dodge ram rpm, mph and other gauages do not work.
check the RED 10Amp fuse No17 located at the glove compartment fusebox
SOURCE: rpm gauge and speedometer stoped working
It sounds like you have a faulty Instrument panel Cluster (IPC) Your local dealer will have to confirm this as independant shops don't have the scanner capabilities for this diagnostic procedure.
I hope this helps.
Thank You,
Roy
SOURCE: Fule gauge speedometer and rpm gauges stopped
Go to the fuse box and change the fuse for "Gauges". I think this might solve the problem.
SOURCE: One by one my gauges(rpm, gas, speedometer, oil)
please keep me posted as well, ALL my gauges are doing the same. First the gas, filled it one day and it fell all the way and light turned on, then my themostat, freaked me out, thought i was overheating,...NO just the guage, NOW my spedometer is stuck on 120, and my RPM's are acting crazy. i have read tons with this same problem, WHY WONT the manufacturer DO SOMTHING??
SOURCE: my dash lights dont work at all
The tail lights are usually on the same fuse as your dash lights. Check to see if you have tail lights. If they are on and it's only your dash lights that don't work, check the dash dimmer switch for a fault.
