Is this a new or old printer? I would check your feed guides, to make sure that the paper is being pulled into the printer properly.

It could also be that it needs a new fuser module. I would check to see if it is still under warranty.

Keep getting paper jam message and I can't see any paper bits anywhere. Trying to open the machine from the back to look inside. Have removed the 4 screws on the back and still can't remove back panel....

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

My Epson DX4050 keeps showing a paper jam and will not feed paper. there are no evident blockages and I have hoovered out the internals to clear any dust. The printer has been low usage.

Having had a similar problem, I can say that you almost certainly do have a paper jam in that the paper clear sensor is being prevented from dropping into a small recess under the paper path, by debris of some kind. You cannot see or access this sensor without dissembling the whole printer and lifting the mechanism clear of the plastic case. Once you know where all the fixing screws are, this can be done in a few minutes, but it is not a job that should be undertaken unless you have a fair degree of mechnical dexterity and are used to disconnecting very small plugs and ribbon assemblies. The secret to getting the printer apart is the removal of the control panel underneath which are more holding screws. This is done by lifting the rear of the panel with a small screw driver in the notch provided, and firmly pushing the panel to the rear of the printer. Once clear a small ribbon connector needs to be detached.

^A00Paper got jammed. I took paper out, but printer doesn't work. Keep getting error code 6A00

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Keeps screwing up paper and e-90 comes up on

An error E-90 means that something is stopping the ink carriage from moving its full extent. Open the printer top and check that the ink carriage lid is firmly locked down, check along the path of the carriage for any foreign/loose objects. If the carriage moves when you switch it on, pull out the power cable when it is across to the left and check for loose gears or foreign objects in the gears on R/H side. As you are also getting screwed up paper I believe that there is something lodged in the paper path. To check this make sure the print carriage is parked fully right and out of the way. You will need an A4 (approx) sized piece of stiff cardboard such as the backing from an A4 note pad. Insert this into the paper feed locating it between the feed rollers on the R/H side. Then push quite firmly to overcome the spring pressure, when you feel it push through about a half inch stop and open the printer to see what is being pushed through. Push the card fully through and retrieve the foreign object (I have found everything from paperclips, curtain hooks and even a golf tee!). Push the card through fully and out of the printer. Always remove paper jams etc, in the direction of the paper feed whenever possible as pulling anything backwards can dislodge or break the sensor flags.
Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

Paper Screws up

No need for pictures, sounds like a very small missed paper jam. You need to get a torch and tweezers and go right into the printer near rollers, paper feeder, and down the back where paper feeds in, my bet is you will find a small piece of paper or a foreign object in there somewhere, regards lilacgerry
