There isn't anything you can do about it. If it was in the middle of the hose then you can tape it up for a temporary solution, but you're going to have to get a new hose. There's no two ways around it.

Hose webbing has ripped where attaches to wand. How does hose attach to handle so bad part can be removed & reattached? Used to be able to fix on other vacs by twisting hose, this one will not budge

Anon, some are molded to plastic and not removable. To me, this looks like a perfect time for duct tape, A million and one uses don't you know. Cut out bad section and try threading what hose is left into the other hoses coil and duct tape it securely together.

Joint pops out

Very possibly there is a small black torx screw whack has fallen out or may just be loose. It holds that joint to the body casing.
The screw must be located and replaces in order to function properly but the ball covering your main motor has to be disassembled and sometimes removal of the motor is the easiest way to put the offending screw back into position.
Dyson has a 5 year warranty on many of their models so you may want to call their help line first. They can tell you where the nearest service center is and ,ay end up fixing the problem at not cost.

Hoover steam vac hose is broken

This applies to Hoover SteamVac model F5899-910.

My unit had a broken hose. I repaired the hose using duct tape and Teflon tape. The breakage seems to be due to a manufacturing error or design defect. The hose is clamped to the unit where it passes to the inside. The position of the clamp did not allow enough slack when the handle is released and the unit is wide open.

The hose coupling has a plastic latch that holds it onto the vacuum nipple. Pry it and remove the coupling. Then trim the ragged end of the hose and clean things up. Wrap the hose with some teflon tape and then tape the hose to the coupling with several turns of duct tape. Attach the hose coupling back onto the vacuum nipple.

Now you should move the clamp say an inch, so that it leaves more slack. Take the two screws out of the clamp and pry out the plastic bracket/cover that holds the clamp in place. Then move the clamp and screw the clamp back onto the bracket/cover. Then snap the bracket/cover back in place.

Take care not to put too much slack in the hose (by moving the clamp too far), as the hose can also bunch up due to being too crowded when the handle is upright.

Inspect the hose and the tape whenever you use it.

A tear in the hose will only affect pick up through the hose when using it to clean furniture, stairs, and such. It will have no effect on the carpet cleaning operation. If the hose cannot be replaced for a while, black electrical tape is one solution to seal the crack.

How to stop leaking fro bottom of machine

I've fixed these before and it's not easy. Your leak is a tear on the flexible hose that goes from the suction take-up body to the upright handle. Tape will temp. fix it, but you have to cut off the bad piece and re-attach it if you want a permanent repair.

Electrolux Epic 6500/ handle clip broke....

The clip can be replaced by taking apart the handle. Small round plastic inserts cover up the screws that hold the handle together. Use a very small screwdriver to pry them off, then use a small screwdriver to remove the screws(Some of the screws may be star screws requiring a special screwdriver. The top part of the handle will then lift off and you will be able to change out the clip. Before reasembling the handle, clean the contacts which attach to the hose and be careful that you do not bend the contacts. It is kind of tricky to put back together.

Good Luck

Hose breakage

The same thing happened to me last week. The inner hose does not have enough "extra" play so if you bend the handle down too low to reach under a dresser or bed the lower inner plastic hose snaps. I brought mine in to be repaired since it's under warranty. I did a long exhaustive search and came across this website1.gif https://www.mdappliance.com that has Hoover Agility replacement hoses and their prices are the best I have found so far. The smaller inner hose (part number 90001080) is only $9.99 (compared to $13.99 & $19.99) and the external hose attachment (part number 91001004) is only $25.99 (compared to $39.95). I specifically asked and the parts are brand new... not refurbished or used. Their phone1.gif number is 866-914-1252. Just in case you're wondering, I'm not a rep for the company nor do I have any affiliation with them. I just placed an order for the hose attacment and came across this webpage1.gif and figured I'd add my 2 cents. Hope this info is helpful. I tried to make it as complete as possible.

Goiod luck.

PS: They also offer a flat rate shipping fee of $7.95 regardless of what you order. No sales tax unles you're in Ohio. :)
