HOw do I change the bairing on the drum R

You didn't mention brand, but that wont matter much.. This is big job. you have to tear down the entire machine from the front and back, remove the front of tub, remove the bolt holding shaft in back of drum, beat or pull out the inner basket and shaft out of damaged rusty bearings, then, depending on model, you either have to pull and replace bearings and seals in outer tub, or replace the entire outer tub with bearings and seals pre-installed by factory. If you have manual, it takes about 4-5 hours first time. Experienced techs can get it down to 1.5-2hrs. But regardless, its a big job.

Where can I buy new loading baskets for my DWI 160 dishwasher?

These come as several parts. Not sure if all are available anymore as Candy parts. But you can get replacement Hoover parts to fit.

Main basket from Candy
Candy DWI 160W UK Dishwasher Basket

Cutlery basket from Candy
Candy DWI 160W UK Universal Cutlery Basket

The Upper and Lower baskets may not be available from Candy but Hoover replacements are
Candy Use HVR41022779 Lower Basket

Best to ask Candy support to provide pictures of the parts for comparison with your model or purchase or a refund policy if not suitable.

There is another site worth checking (but prices seem high)

There are some worn, rusty spots on the lower basket of our Magtag. These are small spots where the plates rest against the tines. Are there any products to repair the plastic finish?

You can buy tine caps and repair goop at an appliance repair shop, however once rust has penetrated it is generally hard to stop

Duet washer very loud when spinning

No you do not have problems with your bearings (especially if you can rotate the basket and it rotates nice and smooth).

What has happened to your machine is exactly what happened to mine: One of the three 'legs' on the shaft support attached to the rear or the basket has broken. The reason it broke is because the bracket is made of die-cast aluminum alloy that is being attacked by galvanic corrosion. See attached pictures of the corroded shaft support, including a close-up of the break. This is what you will find when your machine is taken apart.

You can verify this failure mode by slowly rotating the basket and observing the position of the basket at its maximum off-center location. While the basket is at this position look at the back of the basket and you should see one of the three 'indents' located at the 12 o'clock position. While at this position you should be able to move the basket up and down. Now rotate the basket 120 deg so that the next 'indent' is positioned at the 12 o'clock position. The basket will now be more centered in the opening, and you will not be able to move the basket up and down. You have just identified which of the three bracket arms have been broken.

Call Whirlpool warranty service (1-800-253-1301) and tell them about the problem with the basket: believe it or not the basket has a life-time warranty. The shaft support is not available as a seperate item. The basket p/n is 8182232.

I was able to get Whirlpool to send me a replacement basket, but they would not do the same for the front-half of the plastic tub, which was damaged by the basket hitting the front lip, even though the warranty states that the plastic tub is warranteed for ten years. They did however agree to sell me one for 50% off the std cost. The p/n is 285982.

If your washer was purchased less than 5 years ago, best to work with your local Whirlpool authorized service agent to get the machine repaired. My machine is over 5 years old (GHW9100LW1), and I am repairing the machine myself.

I would be interested in hearing how you make out in getting your washer repaired.

Regards,
Bill in Ma.

VERY LOUD GRINDING NOISE LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer

Get a new washer. Perhaps another brand.

The fix for me was to get a new washer. Had same issue with loud spin cycle. Tried researching while wife was continuing use of washer. Then the LE message appeared.

Took back apart and found that water had leaked and caused a boat load of damage. Bearings shot, seal leaks, drum leaks, Stator damaged. Same issue as 'jammy64' stated.

Cost to repair wasn't worth it. Going to get an
Electrolux model.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care 2 - Won't Spin all the time

The motor coupler could be worn. This is accessed by removing the front of the cabinet. The upper console 1s held on by 2 screws at the base of the upper control at the back corners. The console slides forward then rotates up. Benearth the upper console is 2 gold spring clips which have to be pryed out with a screwdriver, The power cord will have to be disconnected at this time. The whole cabinet will tip forward 45 degrees leaving the base and tub assembly stationary. The cabinet then can be slid out of the way. In the front at the bottom is the pump and motor. Pry off the 2 spring clips that hold the plastic pump in place and pull it out of the way. You do not need to disconnect the water lines. The motor is held in place by 2 spring clips which are fastened to the motor by a 5/16 hex bolts. Remove these bolts and pry the clips out of the way they both will pop off of the motor, do not let the motor drop. Pull the motor out of the way revealing a black rubber disk with a white coupler on the motor shaft and one on the transmission shaft. this whole assembly will likely be damaged and will need to be replaced.
