The bolt, screw, whatever that holds the squirrel cage in place has broken off our unit. What size and type do I need to get to replace it? It's on a shaft with one flat side, and there is a place for a...

Use an Allen Head Screw. There are different sizes/threads that are used. Your best bet is to take the wheel with you and match one up. I've worked for several HVAC contractors and, if someone had stopped by our shop with a blower wheel and needed the screw you are looking for, we would have gladly helped them and probably would not have charged them anything for it. :-)

2007 Dodge Magnum, RT/AWD - Front Driver side wheel area noise, like snow/ice was caught up under, checked notheing. One month later the noise came back but with a vengence. Now makes the noise at all...

Check the Brakes first. Are the pads worn down to metal. Is the Caliper Stuck (open)?
Raise and Support the Front and Rear (because of AWD) of the vehicle.
Remove the left front tire. Make sure the Parking Brake is engaged. Place the lug nuts back on the lug studs. Place the Vehicle in Neutral. Turn the wheel (without the tire on) and listen for where the noise is coming from. A bad bearing will feel rough (not smooth) and sound 'crackly' when trying to turn the one wheel. Make sure it is not from the CVJ.
If not smooth: Remove and Replace the wheel bearing. And yes you can do it yourself saving you about $150-$200 dollars. It is a bolt-on (4 bolts) bearing. Bolt Heads should be on the back side of the steering knuckle.
Remove the Brake Caliper, Caliper Brace, and Rotor.
Remove the 4-bolts (turn the wheels left and right to better access these bolt heads) and slip the bearing off the Axle. You may have to hit the bearing to loosen it.

How do I replace my heater core?

If its anything like my 97 lancer you will need to follow these steps..

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Disconnect the top and bottom hoses from the heater core next to the firewall)

Pull off the steering wheel
Undo the steering wheel bolt.
Undo the 3 screws holding the steering wheel cover in place, unclick them and put to the side.
Undo the centre console
Undo the glove box - you'll need to manipulate the stops on the inside and let it fall to the floor before - undo the two bolts at the bottom.
Remove the Instrument panel, radio, radio frame.
Undo the single screw in the bottom of the casing surrounding the vents control, gently pop out the vent plate.
Undo the 4 screws holding the vents controls in place.
Remove the frames that are holding the vent controls in place (either side of the centre colsoles (or where they were)
Remove the two side vents (push down and pull back).
Remove the two bolts (either side) that are holding the dash up.
Remove the two bolts (bottom left corner, bottom right corner) that are holding the dash up.
Gently pull the dash up and forward to (making sure you don't pull any wires off there guides and place to the side).

Put the dash to the side (resting on the front seat)

The heater core should be sitting in the middle of the dash.

Remove the four bolts (two top, two bottom) and place to the side.

Pull the heater core back and move to the side to clear the holes in the firewall.

Manipulate the heater core to the side and move out through the gap in the dash and the cross bar (it is a tight squeeze but you can get it out)

Installation is the reverse of all the instructions.

when you have finished installing the heater core make sure you bleed the engine with coolant

Top up the radiator - keep the cap off, turn on the engine, turn on the heater on the heater to full, with the engine running keep topping up the radiator as the water runs through the new core...keep doing this until no more water goes through - this last step takes a while so be patient otherwise you will start to drive the car and will have an overheating engine very quickly...

Floor boards on Wide Glide

I have floorboards on my 02 WG - both rider and passenger. The passenger boards are HD. The rider boards are these: (about half way down the page - Adjustable Floorboard Kit - part number is CS190505) Easy install - remove the footpeg, bolt the floorboards in place. I'll see if I can find some good pics of my bike with the floorboards installed.
