Question about Craftsman Garden

1 Answer

You answered a gentlmans question and I have a question. You suggested to put in a timble size ammount of gas into the cylinder. What does the cylinder look like, were you refering to putting the gas in where the sparkplug is for a quick start up?

Hello, I didn't answer that particular question, but the answer is yes, it goes there. A thimblefull sounds a bit much. I'd try starting fluid instead.

Shouldn't a 2.0 liter engine be getting better gas Mileage than a 2.4 liter engine?

The size of the engine alone will not determine gas mileage. There are many other factors including vehicle weight, design of the motor, etc. So in answer to question 1, size isn't going to matter.

For question #2, make sure you change the oil, oil filter, air filter and keep the tires inflated to recommended specs. That might help you out a bit...

It might be possible to use a sling hoist. These are used in nursing homes, hospitals etc to move people from wheelchairs to beds, armchairs etc. There's a portable one at http://www.activemobility.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?ref=32&products_id=1331&affiliate_banner_id=1 that operates from a rechargeable battery which might do the job. It could be either put in the boot of a car or on the boat when he's out in the boat. It's expensive though costing 2356.43 plus vat. I hope this helps.

When driving is get sluggish like it is going to die... and when opening the gas tank there is pressure (hissing)... after pressure is releaved from the gas tank the sluggishness seems to stop...

sounds like clogged or clogging fuel injectors, sorry for delay in the answer in your problem, been busy w/other issue . suggest easy solution to your problem, purchase lucas fuel injector cleaner, add to your fuel tank. cost $5.00 treats 20 gallons of fuel. just add the ammount that you need. follow the directions on the bottle, you can purchase at auto zone or advance automotive if need be to clear up the sputtering problem. note' there will always be hissing from the gas cap[normal] due to pressure from your fuel pump,it pumps around 180lbs of pressure to the fuel rail that operates your engine the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail;regulates the pressure to your injectors, that's what makes your engine run so smoothly.
