How about the switch. Try to change position. Should bring them up. They moving just lowered. If they not moving you need repair or a machine.

SOURCE: Feed Dogs, Thread Tangle

Hi Jeanette! You have a Singer Featherweight--the best sewing machine ever made! (Mine dates from 1950/51 and I wouldn't trade it for the world.) These beautiful, sturdy machines were designed to be easily repairable at home, but you'll need a copy of the Service Manual (get the Instruction manual too, if you don't have one.) Go to www.singer-featherweight.com and check out what they have available.

I had a similar problem (needle thread not catching the bobbin thread) and the problem was that I hadn't put the needle in correctly (flat side to the left). Also, I will occasionally get thread wrapped around the bobbin housing--sewing along just great and then everything comes to a screeching halt. I'm not sure why that happens, but I'm getting pretty good at taking the bobbin housing apart. The manual is pretty clear on how to do it. You can contact me direct at [email protected] for more information.

Thanks!

Robbie

SOURCE: Feed Dog problem

I listened to all that...and none of it worked...so I took the plate off and gave it a good clean. Still nothing. If your machine's a bit old like mine or tends to get stuck...physically lift up the feed dog with your fingernail or a flat screw driver or something (once the plate is off), then push the feed dog lever across and release the feed dog. It should hold in place if nothing else has worked...woo!!! :)

SOURCE: feed dog problem.

Open the bobbin case door and there should be a lever sitting off to the right. It moves from left to right. For the feed dogs to be in the up position the lever should be to the left.

SOURCE: singer stylist sewing machine 534 is not stitching

Feed dog drive gear(2) are plastic and are probably stripped. Always replace them in pairs. While you are at it replace both hook drive gears as well. It will run as good as new.

Singer heavy-duty 4411 the feed dog's are moving it just not coming up all the way to move fabric and the button to adjust feed dog's is on up my machine has not dust or lint

The Singer 4411 has a hidden switch to raise and lower the feed dogs. It's on the back of the machine near the presser foot. You have to remove (slide to the left, from the front of the machine) the extension table/accessory box to access the switch. Move the switch away from the body of the machine to raise the presser foot. See page 24 of the manual for the picture.

The manual is available on the product page: https://www.singer.com/heavy-duty-4411-sewing-machine. The current link to the manual is https://manuals.singer.com/Manuals/RetrievePDF/608 .

I hope this helps.

Where is the switch to lower feed dogs on Singer 9005. Also for a singer 247

Many Singer sewing machine manuals are available here: https://www.singer.com/support . The Singer 9005 uses a darning plate to cover the feed dogs. This was included in the original accessories and a replacement can be purchased at many sewing machine parts vendors. As far as I can tell, the feed dogs do not lower and no darning plate was included for the 247.

I hope this helps.

Typically, the feed dogs do not raise until the machine begins to stitch.

Even on the raised setting, the feed dogs won't move the thinnest summer weight fabric. Does anyone know how to fix this problem on the Singer Model #7426?

Could be the presser foot is not applying enough pressure to the feed dogs. Check your owner manual for instructions on increasing the presser foot pressure. Could also be that the feed dog height needs to be adjusted or their teeth are worn (do not run the machine without fabric between the presser foot and feed dogs).

6235 singer ! How do I raise feed dogs ???

According to the manual, there is an accessory that covers the feed dogs. (Shown as an accessory on page 4.) So the feed dogs should not raise or lower other then during normal sewing action of moving the fabric.

Singer sewing machine 6233

have you checked your feed dogs are moving? have you dropped the feed dogs by accident? the feed dogs might need a drop of oil on the moving parts inside your machine.

I have a singer 543 the feed dogs won't move.

I suggest getting out your manual and looking up lower and raising the feed dogs. When the feed dogs are lowered they don't move. You could have lowered them without realising it.

Why would my Singer 6235 not feed the fabic:

h! there,
fabric moves forward when machine run due to movement of feed dogs, feed dog has a teeth, when your foot presser goes down attached to fabrics the pressure hold the fabric between pressure foot and feed dogs that why when machine run feed dogs pushed fabric when recieved stitch.try to check adjustment of feed dogs it maybe set at rest or neutral.reset it to upward towards needle.check also bobbins thread if accumulation was build up under feed dogs.regard and have a nice day.
