This is a common problem with 1500 series laptops, as it ages the tap sensor in the touchpad gets more sensitive and can read a tap, or read a release at random times. the best way to stop this is to disable the tap to click option on the dell touchpad tab of the mouse control pannel aplet.

Hello !!

I have seen this problem many times and the most common reason is Spyware or Malware.

So, download, update and run from these sites: http://www.spybot.com and http://www.malwarebytes.com. With Malwarebytes, be certain to choose the free software.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

There is no button/ key to turn off Internal Mouse (Touchpad) in a Dell Inspiron 1545 so you may try following the below steps which might help:

    (1)Click start.
    (2)Type device in the search box and select device manager.
    (3)Double click on Mice and other pointing devices.
    (4)Right click on the Internal mouse and select disable.

    Thanks and Regards.

My Dell Inspiron 6000 notebook computer curser "jumps around"

I frequently have the same thing when using a Dell laptop. The problem MAY be with the touch pad. Without noticing it, my thumb touches the pad and away goes the cursor!

So try this: Open the control panel and go to mouse. Look at the top for Touchpad. There is a setting in there for sensitivity. Reduce the setting so that you need to apply more pressure on the touch pad to move the cursor. Test it a few times to make sure it is still functional before closing the control panel. Then try typing something in a word processor and see if it is any better.

Good luck, and please let me know if this helps.

Dell Cursor Typing Blinking Problem

this is because you must deactivate your touchpad. you can do this by holding the Fn key and pressing the F* key that shows a picture of a touchpad in the same color as the Fn.
or you can go to control panel and turn it off in the mouse settings. but just attaching a mouse will allow the touchpad to stay active and therefore still be sensitive enough for your hand to "tap" th cursor.;
Good luck and pls rank this response! :D
