Dryer will not get hot

Thank you for your post, Hamin!

From my understanding your Frigidaire dryer is not getting hot. This could be a clog in your vent or an issue with the element. I would recommend checking over the exhaust vent to make sure there is not any type of build-up inside. If there is, you can use a vacuum to help remove much of the lint. Additionally, if no build-up is found it could be an electrical issue with the element or thermostat. I would suggest having a professional technician out for proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. Hopefully this is helpful. -Matt

Dryer gallery series e68

Good Morning Friend,

I understand you want to know how to replace the board on your Frigidaire dryer, model# GLEQ2152ES, due to receiving an E68 code. Typically, this is not a do it yourself repair, as there are no step by step instruction manuals. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They have been trained on your particular appliance, and should be able to replace the board with ease. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Hi Robert Burch - From what you have described the unit could possibly have a communication problem with the control panel. However, if the unit is not producing any heat please have a professional diagnose the heating element and the blower assembly as well. Either, or, could be faulty at this time. This is not a typical DIY job so please consult a professional.

Dryer Troubleshooting Electric dryer wont heat

Dryer not heating, help

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

My Frigidaire Gallery front loading dryer does not produce heat any more. It is model number FSG747GES1 and was purchased in March 1998. I don't know if it needs a new heating element or a vent cleaning.

Check to make sure you have 220V. Make sure you have no blockage of air flow (lit glogged up). Unplug dryer, Check your thermostats. If they are good check your heating element and take it out and visually inspect it.

Frigidaire gallery series dryer will not heat

Hello spirit817. Unplug the 220v, remove the back panel, locate your heating element, check the wiring connections to the element. DVM or ohm your element for continunity. If open research your local electrical applance store for the replacement. If not the element check your thermostats located in the air drafts with the meter.

Frigidaire front loader dryer, Gallery series, blowing cold air only

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.
I attempted to locate an answer to resolve the issue for you, but you have not provided me with enough information to access my service database. Please observe the TIP below, and post me back and I will be happy to assist you further.
If your dryer doesn't heat, check these:

Power from the house
Heating element
Thermal fuse
Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

If my assistance helped resolve this issue, please show your appreciation by rating how effective my advice was in resolving this issue.
Thank you,
Dave E. (Illeagle)
