I have a LG LHD45EL and the compressor works, fins chill but fan won't turn at all. I took it apart and cleaned the armature of the fan, Used a non-contact device to ensure electric is present in the windings that make the fan armature spin. The fan motor still does not spin. Any help would be appreciated! The closest authorized center is 35 miles away. Thanks, Ty

I forgot to add that I tried this earlier, spun the blades but they did not keep spinning. Also, the fan blades are not bound in any way, they do freely spin.
    Thanks,
    Ty

Let the unit cool down
with power on try sticking something in there to spin the fan blade
if it spins and continues to work it is a bad capacitor (little shiny metal can sometimes oval or round)
if it doesnt spin i would have to guess the motor is bad
hope this helps

How do you check compressor on LG LHD45EL

If you just want to make sure the compressor is running, turn it to the lowest humidity extraction level setting, which is 35%. If the air intake filter is clean, and the water bucket is empty, the compressor should turn ON, in less than a minute.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

My LG LHD45EL all of a sudden

Short on refrigerant... or a failed compressor. are most likely or a system problem, causing it to trip off.

There may also be a failed electrical component, you need to check for voltage at the compressor.

I've had the lg LHD45EL Dehumidifier for about 1.5 years now. I have used it every spring/summer. I turned it on this year and it runs but the water does not collect. Obviously something is wrong any idea...

I found the same thing. I've had my LHD45EL for 2 or 3 years. Worked great for my basement. This year I hear it run, but it doesn't collect water. I cleaned the filter and of course nothing. I took the back cover off, and tried running it. The condenser runs, but the copper tube leading up to the coil doesn't get cold. My guess is that the freon (or whatever refrigerant they are using) has leaked out. There doesn't appear to be any way to recharge it, the original tube has been crimped and soldered. Looks like junking it and buying a new one is the only option unless someone is good with a torch and solder. My question is whether to go LG or not.

Fan will not come on.

The fan has to run if the compressor is running as the fan assists in removing the heat from the condenser coil. Can you spin the fan by hand? If there is full power(120 volts) to the fan and it isn't running then the fan motor is bad. Also, if the fan motor has a run capacitor this could keep the fan from running(if the capacitor is defective) so look for this first.

No water is collecting on 2 year old lg humidifier

If when you turn your dehumidifier on the compressor runs then you should get moisture. Dehumidifiers work on the same principal as refrigeration. There is a bad control switch or the compressor start relay or capacitor is defective. If compressor runs and there is no effect then that is another problem. The filter should come out the front where the air goes in front and the filter should be washed by hand in warm degrease detergent water, dry and replace. If the disposable type filter I will help you contact LG.Thanks, Sea Breeze
