The issue definitely is associated with Norton. I have Norton Internet 2009. To get rid of the error, the following needs to be done.
* Right Click on the Norton Protection Center Icon from the system tray
* Select Norton Internet Security
* Click Settings
* Under Basic Security, click Auto-Protect
* Click Configure
* Under Real-Time Protection, take the checkmark off "Turn on scanning for Micorsoft Office documents"

Please try to use problem and solution option in Program --> Maintainace --> Problem and Solution
It should give you the file or dll file that is corrupted ***try to find the file and rename the file and restart the computer and see if the issue fixes.
Please put the log file her so that I can go through.

What is project1? If not sure. Install clean antivirus get it from www.oldapps.com & HijackThis. It will clean your computer and Install again the DirectX.
