you need to call a dealer and get a price to replace the transmission. perhaps you can swap yours for a rebuilt tranny. If you are at all mechanical, you can change the transmission yourself in an afternoon, so some cost could be saved on labor.

X300 series tractor problems climbing steep inclines belt seems to be slipping Is there an adjustment to tighten?

Hello,

The X300 has a self adjusting tensioner on the drive belt. Are you trying to mow uphill in the morning? or when the grass is wet? And did you buy it new, and how long has it been acting this way. Have you had a rear flat tire repaired latley? These are some questions that will help us answer you problem.

Thanks,Matt

sign of a failing hydrostatic tranny. however 3 years is pretty quick for a transmission unless mower was used commercially. make sure your drive belt is snug.

If it is hydrostatic check the oil in the trans-axle, if standard shift the drive belt is probably slipping
